Somewhere within FF, I've seen a broker's definition of scalping. And it's not that tough to get around. It's largely a function of time, meaning trades of a very short duration - like 5 minutes or less. And then it's got to be a substantial portion of one's overall trades - either 30 or 50%, as I recall.
So if it takes you 10-15 minutes to earn 5 pips, you'll probably be okay.
But if your specialty is to continually grab 2-3 pips in 30 seconds, that's when they seem to have a problem with it - for the reason stated above.
I don't live off of scalping. But I sure like to do it from time to time. And I've never had a broker-related problem. But I get very few victories in less than a minute.
