Disliked{quote} I know this is a bit of a thread hijack and slightly off topic but can your backtest program run with multiple symbols? I have a US30 open strat thats very simple and sort of hedges. At market open, Short 1 lot US30 and Long 8 lots US500 (these numbers equate to the same margin) and close both when account is $100 in profit, or $200 in loss. US500 generally outperforms US30 in both up and down markets so most nights it should end in positive equity, regardless of market direction. I have a bot that does this but won't backtest in cTrader...Ignored
DislikedHi guys, I wrote an EA to test the strategy but honestly I don't understand how you can get such good results. Either with the "recovery" option active, or without it, the EA is losing. Attached you can see the result with recovery (99.9% backtest data quality), this is with US500 but results are similar with US30 or USATEC. I guess if I'm using the recovery in the wrong way. At us market open time (which is 16.30 here in Italy) I place 2 pending orders, 30 pips away from current market price. SL = 60, TP = 60 but I use trailing because most of...Ignored
DislikedAt us market open time (which is 16.30 here in Italy) I place 2 pending orders, 30 pips away from current market price. SL = 60, TP = 60 but I use trailing because most of the times price bounces back, so the TP is hit only a few times. With this configuration, correct me if I'm doing it wrong, the entry price of one order is the SL of the other one. When one of the 2 pending orders is activated, I add another pending order on the opposite direction. If everything goes ok, that's it. If prices come back against me, when SL is hit the 2 pending orders...Ignored
Dislikedit doesn't change much. In my humble opinion this strategy is like flipping a coin, backtesting I don't see any statistical proof that at US open time the price will move with a strong movement in one direction. The only advantage is given by the "recovery" option. But still, also that one is not working so good, as it is explained. So unless people here are using a different strategy, or I don't know how they can get such good results with the recovery explained some pages back. I tried with a slightly different approach: as soon as one of the...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Totally wrong trading time. 16.30 is broker time, not Italy time. After US market open, wait for 1.5 hours later, and you may set the pending buy and sell stop order.Ignored
Disliked{quote} not sure about it. my broker time is equal to my local time. anyway, it doesn't matter, I tested the EA with all the times combinationsI don't know why people who are using the strategy don't respond to this thread, so I did some tests on my own and I attach the result from 2017 to today. Still not perfect, I will put this on a demo account and see what happens in the following weeks. @lorecavoli: non male, ma molto migliorabile a mio parere

DislikedSo it seems there's been a lot of interest in my approach to this strategy. I'll share the details below. {quote} Yes blam, I am trading making use of only the EA now. Initially I was doing it manually until the EA came along. Makes things easier especially when I'm not around my PC. {quote} I see bojack has already shared a good one for you. {quote} {quote} {quote} {quote} So initially what caught my attention to this strategy was the simplicity around it, it almost seemed too easy. Just set some pending orders and take profit voila.. Well sort...Ignored
Disliked{quote} I think this is a good trading system. Just been trading it for 3 days, and the result all win. I used the 2nd method from the author. One thing I dont like is the risk:reward is not good. Really need an EA for backtesting to make it perfect..Ignored
Disliked{quote} what's the second method? I can share the EA if anybody is willing to share some info@TheZenienss: do you have backtest results for your EA? I can help with testing and optimization if needed.
