Yen gets stronger until the BOJ report if the data were good previously. It struggles then until Toshihiko Fukui speaks... and then weakens until the next important data. BUT dollars are meant to get weaker... and weaker... i ve read also on Reuters that many companys have their options around 118.40 and 118.90 so if it breaks it...

I never trade usdjpy, for it being to versatile... and it s not good when a currency is versatile, usdjpy shouldnt go over 119.00, and if it goes should drop...

Unless we get some nastiness out of the G20 (which is a distinct possibility) I think that would be a fair assumption. I wouldn't attempt any preemptive strike were I you though. One cross remark out of the G-20 and you could have a 100 pip gap against you...
I'm short usd/jpy currently. Been shorting small lots since 4 days back. Now currently in the red but i'm expecting a rebound soon.
Well i shorted usdjpy at 118.31 and closed it around 118.10 hehehe, so it was a kindoff really embarassing trade... before i used to trade the news... enterring with a straddle... i think i will try to guess the news... like the usa news are 80% of the time worst then expected hehehe =)

Technically I see a nice short @151.04 with stop above 151.30 for a target of 150.60-150-40

Any idea about this pair ?

Well i took advantage of the spike down yesterday to close my usd/jpy shorts. Took a much smaller loss.

trucco, imo, there are talks about diversifying out of dollars by central banks to yen, but the eur will be less affected as the diversification is mainly selling dollars. Yes, there is correlations but the eur/jpy trade has been in an uptrend very quite some time now. A downward move would be quite short. Going against the major trend can make big losses.

If you think the yen will appreciate, the safe bet is to short usd/jpy
This is how I see the USDJPY setting up this week, Ill be short somewhere around 119 ...

I am not an expert with the EUR/JPY, but I can tell you one thing... it's uptrend, and it's not over.

Hey hey, I am not a trend addict, I actually trade whatsoever, trend, news when I can, short moves, fakes etc...

About the EUR/JPY, I already made a lot of money on it.

Here is the rules:

do not sell it except if

-it 's just after the ECB repo rate report
-that they didn't rase the rate or
-that they rased the rates as EXPECTED for a while!
-it's a new historical top ( as 151.04 may turn positive, but is less likely then a buy to stay positive...)
-it's a 65 pips, 15 mins canle that just happened there for no reason at all.(this never happens on eur/jpy, but happens on gbp/jpy)

otherwise, at least until march next year, if not december 2007,

I dont know eur-jpy at all, but Im curios to study it a bit.
yes, G 20 MEETING IS SOMETHING TO STAY OUT. TONIGHT THERE COULD BE A SURPRISE IN THE PRICE
JPY/Usd is going to be traded in a range between .008460 to .008600. This is what I think of this pair.

now is the right time around 151.45, put an entry limit at 151.60

no stops

sure position

take profit about 20 to 40 pips...
