Hey guys,

having trouble with MT4 connection, all the charts are frozen and connection occurs somewhat sporadically on and off!!

Is anybody else expericing this problem, is there a way around it or is it due to MT4 servers being down.

PC is good so the problem not there, opened new account as well, reloaded software but still problem persists.

My ODL demo telling me invalid acc...
Luckily, I am using them just for the charting purposes!!!
As for my LIVE acc, I used IGmarkets...local support and fund transfer...

Trade what you see, not what you think.
Click (left click) your connection status at the bottom right (like the image below) than try some other servers listed if they were present.

open new demo account, may be current account expired.
Hi All... I am with FxPro... red different posts over the internet... and see that MT4 via other Brokers have the same problem... 'No connection' and freezing...

I have the latest MT4 Build 218... and since a few updates ago... this No Connection and Freezing is happening quite frequently... and often lasts for a few hours...

is MT4 dead...?

Doesn't seem that the server-side program was updated to build 218.
Just finished having this discussion with a friend via messenger ... I have reset my router etc but no-go!

My trading platform with IG Markets live streaming data is operating flawlessly.

This is not the first time I have had issues - thought it only me.

ODL Securities MT4 is also dysfunctional.

I emailed the companies at different times and they said this can happen due to resources being prioritised towards the live trading platforms - demo can freeze when this happens.

Any others have this happen?

Hi, just a quick question regarding the connection picture you attached, my MT4 always shows something in the range of 15/0 to 30/1 speed, while yours is in the THOUSANDS !!!

What does those numbers mean? I have a very fast 2mbps DSL line and I'm using a DLINK 604 router and have no problems with browsing or rapidshare downloads or anything else (except torrents, I just can not download anything, says some port is blocked) so do you think I have a problem here or is this normal?

Today i began suspecting that there may be some connection issues with build 218. The connection drops, freezes and "No Connection" messages have been quite frequent since my upgrade (Sept 07) from build 211.

At times, when 218 says "No connection", my 211 is connected ok. The problem seems intermittent so it's somewhat difficult to pin down. Seems I'm not alone with this issue; will continue to monitor.

Yours works well. Dont worry.

If you let your mt4 running for a week and didn't close the PC, you will get value around 10,000 if having 8pairs running. Juz shown how many data you've download I guess.

I left my mt4 running over every week without shut down it, having high value, but nothing special as well. The important is there dont show the word "NO CONNECTION"
Thanks mphpopular, I fully understood now, I thought that was connection SPEED.

Now that I know it is bytes of data downloaded, it makes perfect sense.

I was having this problem as well, since i use my MT4 only for forcasting, Creating a new demo account removed the "common error" message and i am back up.

Hi, I had the same problem, and I contacted the company.
You should go to the website in which you opened your Demo, and go to my accounts, delete your existing account and then get a new one.
It seams that demo accounts expire monthly, so you have to renew it every month.
