A trader has to realize at some point where his strength lies; a well-read person who knows a bit about everything till he knows almost everything of nothing is a generalist in nature which is destined to become a investor, not a market timer for he lacks specific skills; a technical oriented person focuses on perfecting a technique till he knows absolutely everything of almost nothing is a specialist who might have greater chance of becoming a trader where read-broadly won't help at all.

Once again it proves that widely known strategy such as pair trading in forex is as dead as those winners-used-be lay silently above Himalayas for you cannot predict the action of central banks, though a modified version is indeed applicable in stock indices & commodity futures where they are happy with less surprises.

The 'how' is irrelevant without a sound 'why'. Why do you trade spot MM forex instead of equities or futures or options? Why do you log the price when log-normal is nowhere to be found? Why do you add complex mathematics to your strategy without reading their goddamn ASSUMPTION first?
