took short at .74777.

I think it's probably early as I expect A LITTLE more upside, but I am US based trader and now 2:00am EST. Tired and need sleep.

will stay shorty until friday and close, win or lose and re-enter long for next week and ride trend up or SL, don't care which happens

After next week, I will study to position for Japanese repatriation trade. Have to move much earlier each year to be the early bird as this trade seems to slip more every year.

AU Sells: 0.75314 + 0.75451

AU Buy : 0.74115 + 0.73974

10 T/P and S/L

Range is far larger today so depending on how AU continues throughout the day depicts whether any of the levels will be hit

This could be a Rookie-view. It is in no way thoroughly researched.

Yet wouldn't, long term, a Bullish view on USD be favourable over buying Aussie Dollars? Trump has the economy in Turbo and sentiment for the USA is good right now.

PLUS due to concerns and vocal outrage at China, which could impact the sentiment and economy, one of Australia's main Trading Partners could be suffering. Having a potential rollover affect into Australia's Valuations.

It just doesn't seem feasible to go Long AUD right now.

Thoughts?

Respect - you were right, the 'cup' has formed. Appears nicely on the 4H chart. Waiting to see if the 'handle' forms or the uptrend continues.

I agree, however most people here (including myself) trade on much shorter timeframes (few minutes, few hours, maybe a couple of days).

On the face of it your logic seems right. I've already posted a similar observation. I guess what matters is how the market makers think and some are concerned that what Trump proposes is in effect protectionism. In which case other countries end up doing something similar out of self interest or even retaliatory in nature, at which point it can spill over and have a negative effect on the dollar and the wider global economy.

For the next 10 days AU will be down until first Trump "faux pas". It's my guess.

I agree.. As Price hanging on overhead Resistance, I expect the market to move down as Yellen Speech later.. very nice position..
Only if 0.752x area holds..

So my point now is, what fundamental reason would make this pair follow the second scenario? We all know the short reasons, China, USD interest rates, Australia is the worst economy in the world (so idiots say), etc. etc. so the piece of the puzzle I am missing would be the up move... so still short view medium term
