Dislikedwhy would ff get into software and open a door to a whole slew of issues? why would ff start providing a service that explicitly makes it so that people have less need to visit the site?Ignored
Nubs, your explanation of the UAC considerations was excellent; I really appreciated it. I now suspect that my antiquated version of Clarion (hasn't been updated since 1997, and I'm unwilling to shell out the US$2,000 needed to do so) creates 32-bit EXEs that are somehow incompatible with 64-bit Win7. But I can't be sure, and I can't be bothered trying to troubleshoot the problem any further, especially as there's no monetary incentive for me to do so. As my uncle used to say (something like) "Goodwill is more important than money, but it doesn't keep your creditors off your back". LOL.
Interestingly, FF commissioned Derk Wehler to write a news indy (here) and also provided an XML version of the calendar, as part of the project. But that was a long time ago.
@Brucewhain: I explained all of the other reasons why I'm unwilling to commercialize Plot News in my earlier post. I'm glad you still find the product useful, and that it continues to run OK for you.
