Testing Brent.
Stripped down Ichi and just using cross of yellow line for a target of 5 to 10 points. Seems okay so far ( Using data from 8 am to 10 am UK time so don't include that nice up slope to the left unless you really get up earlier) :-)
Needs a lot more forward demo trades to assess worth.

Have a good week end all.

Did anyone make a killing on Cable today?

I believe the Billy Bar had a bit of to and fro before making up its mind this morning.

If anyone here is trading large lots on Cable, how do you get over the fear of price moving against you so quickly that you cannot respond and it wipes you clean? I am wanting to start trading with a relatively large amount of capital (high leverage) but am worried that a sudden 50-100 pip movement might kill me. I've thought about keeping most of my cash in the bank and only placing 5k-10k with the broker to trade with, in case of a sudden movement as such. Ideally I would like to trade £100+ per pip.

The only downside to this would be that I won't be able to hold too many trades open (countering will become trickier) You are all more experienced than I am so any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I also believe such high leverage is now only available through non EU brokers. I could go with an EU broker but to trade £100+ per pip, I would have to lodge a huge amount of money with the broker and I am not comfortable in case of a flash crash or other catastrophic event. Thanks for any feedback in advance.

I knew it would happen.... i have just been looking at FTSE lol. 04-00 to 08-00. 4 hour bar. trade the second break of High/Low. So if High breaks wait until Low breaks or vice versa. sometimes it does not happen but hey ho.

Yes 4 hour bars on this seem to trend, meaning more often than not they will break one side only. Makes it easier to trade. A bit like the AU 4am-8am bar. Cable is a bit trickier just now lol.

Keeping a smaller amount with the broker but being able to add to the bank should you need to is my way of doing things - and Billy's I think.

You could use IG's Swiss office (not an introduction, do you own due diligence).

As for Cable, I wouldn't worry too much. If the sky did have the potential to fall in at any time, Chicken Little will give you plenty of notice. Just don't trade that day.

Oh and another way around the leverage thing is to use two (or more) brokers and run buy side on one and sell side on the other.

BTC - found this indicator on another thread (original goes back to 2010 and Hanover got involved).

Anyway, I'll see if it gives clues to the best time to buy/sell this thing. Must be able to get it to analyse by the hour rather than session. That would be interesting.

You can also fiddle with the settings to show a breakout e.g. the 00:00-04:00 bar, but viewed on a lower timeframe to see the whips. Useful for gathering stats or a quick visual backtest

'Morning, all. Hope the weekend was a pleasant one.

Completely in the dark re The Monster's intentions as we start the new week, with price sitting slap bang in the middle of two tramlines of significant levels at 12381 and 12562, with the lower level corresponding with the 23.6 H1 fib.

Soooooooooooo, looks like I'll be happy for it to kick off and do its thing and play the reaction, while sticking with The Billy Bar to get in on initially.

Trade well all.

The Not-The-Billy-Bar looked likely to be a Long move all the way and sure enough that's what we got. I took it as a Wick-Zone move, so although I have bagged, we still don't have a close in profit for a straight break and looks like it'll run into The Billy-Bar time-slot now.

The Billy-Bar has broke North and is in retrace mode just now. It's worth noting that for price to advance it will have to break the 50-level which runs at the High of the 07:45 bar.

Right, so price drops all the way back through - kind of expected, tbh - and as you will also notice, the bottom of our candle lines up with the 15-min 23.6-level as well. As a result, I felt comfortable enough not running a WZ Counter (which would have actually gone ok as it turns out).

Instead, I let price go and set tripwires at the mid-line, and the Lower WZ. I then added another as we got a bounce off our 23.6-Level. I then had a good chance of at least greening-up with any kind of retrace whether or not the initial trade(s) went to +5.

(Oh and I had a double entry on the initial move, as I got a poor price on first attempt and added the ''proper'' entry as price dropped back).

Anyway, here is how it looked with my lines-in-the-sand drawn.
