{quote} Where a bot may be useful is actually when you run both. In situations where the first fails and you are managing it while the second bar comes into play...that gets interesting, lol.
Ignored
Ok but the idea of the robot to me is that I don't have to manage the trade.

There is no perfect answer of course just keep plodding on !

{quote} Sticking with that. Anything could happen on the way and probably will ... Got a little open position long from 8150 yesterday and will sit it out - guess that's the only way to understand this thing. Edit: entered off area posted yesterday saw as support. Was wrong as it dropped but going ok now. {image}

That drop looks more like a Demand Clear Out. Always so easy to see in hindsight

{quote} Lol ok. Still say 04.00 to 08.00 is best option. Maybe have a look at 04.00 to 08.15. Same concept applies to NY open but nobody seems interested in that. Back playing with robot which is what this is all about. No harm throwing ideas about.

I am happy with The Dead Zone and UC at US Open. Just let it do it's thing.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It gets rather too hectic even for me when you have both running counters at the same time. So letting a bot do the overview is attractive.

... some of my robots playing with WTI/USOIL breakouts to hunt for +5 Pips for about 3 months:

01:00 - 01:15 GMT+2
02:00 - 06:00 GMT+2

All trades closed +5 pips profit - no open trades, except todays trade in the moment of writing.

Using Billys bar - there are couple of trades still open

regards
Mucky

edit: WTI 01:00 - 01:15 GMT+2 closed :-)

{quote} I feel that more often than not they are continuation candles and so you miss the first bag and in effect make a large single candle. This would mean that if it did break, you are simply in effect still trading just the second bar. Should that fail and reverse, then if you wait for a break of the opposite side, your negative will be much larger - and if you play it WZ, then again, you may as well just play the second bar.

And if they are continuation candles, therein lies the edge. I might have a look at collating some stats for this.

Correct. I found the same formations happening again and again in my old original DAX play, the two hour block 06:00 - 08:00 UK time. You also see it especially on The Witching Hour.

4-8 is good option as it's busting out of the best part of Asian session,
only downfall is bigger bar and bigger bank needed maybe.

It's back to range as play on A/J at night. On GU if it's around 20/25 you know it's going to break. If it's 40 or so then walk away.

{quote} If GBP pairs are a concern - for obvious reasons - maybe have a look at something safer such as gold. I follow it and I know Lem does. Just a thought.

I knew it would happen....
i have just been looking at FTSE lol.
04-00 to 08-00. 4 hour bar.
trade the second break of High/Low. So if High breaks wait until Low breaks or vice versa.
sometimes it does not happen but hey ho.
