Now it's time for me to say Thank you, Davit! Here's my stats for this year: {image} Pivot trading is an awesome strategy! It works & pays money) I modified your method to my personal issues but the core of the system is weekly fib pivots & your trading ideas. I followed your advice to pick several pairs & master them. Here's non-loss wininng streak on USDCAD since the beginning of the year. {image} Thanks, Davit, for all you have done here on FF & particularly for me and for my trading!
You should participate more often. On a side note my wife went to Russian School in Georgia.She is fluid in Russian and have many Russian friends myself mostly Artists....the interesting types

My calendar events next week
Looking at events there are 3 key Currencies in Sharp focus next week
NZD USD CAD hence my trading will be focused on these.
Sun
NZD Retail Sales q/q 0.5% 0.0%
The economic calendar for next week gets an early start with key data from New Zealand during the Sunday Asian session.
This data release gets extra attention because it’s a data set that we would typically expect to receive monthly. However, in New Zealand, we only get to see it quarterly.
Here’s a look at what’s been going on and what we might expect from the markets even before the weekend is over.
There are three versions of quarterly retail sales all coming out at the same time: Sunday 22:45 CET (or 16:45 EST). The data is relevant to the next publication out of New Zealand expected on Tuesday evening.
The start of the event is the quarterly change in retail sales. This is expected to accelerate to 1.3% growth, compared to the 0.0% reported previously. This is the figure the market usually focuses on.
Additionally, we have Core Retail sales, which exclude automotive-related purchases. This data is expected to increase by 2.1% compared to 0.4% prior.
Finally, we have the year over year comparison in retail sales. This is expected to have increased by 9.7% compared to 2.7% in the third quarter.
From all these data and the fact previous was 00 any + would be seen as positive hence bias is NZD gain but we'll see how this unfolds.Worst part this data is coming up so early in thinnest market time which normally creates long spikes..
Skimping GBP related news.Not really interested on this unless I see some great set up.
Tues
USD CB Consumer Confidence 124.3 120.2 green projection if true and Powell speaking same time could create nice thrusts up on USD like Example UC which was sold off heavy on last Friday and back to 32+
Fed Chair Powell Testifies-Every CEO, Feds head etc would only be singing the positives nobody goes to public says I am doing crappy job which Powell is doing by raising rates previously and making dollar too strong.This effects lots of industries negatively.He may get grilled by Democrats.Interesting to watch this.
Weds
CAD CPI 0.2% -0.1% pretty generous projection but remains to be seen. We could go yo yo UC up Tues reaching 3180-3225 then positive data on CAD then drop 3150 and lower.
Powell testifies again note CAD CPI is at 8.30 and Powell is at 10am this makes a difference which gets head start.
NZD ANZ Business Confidence
The ANZ Business Confidence Index in New Zealand rose to an eight-month high of -24.1 in December 2018 from -37.1 the previous month. Still, the latest reading continued to suggest firms remain pessimistic
Note upswing trajectory and anything below -24 most likely send NZD flying down.
Look at graph bottom of the post!
Thurs
USD Advance GDP q/q 2.6% 3.4% projection is red here and don't expect green considering retail sales were red overall and housing down.
This could provide nice opportunity to sell some USD like AU long UC shorts EU long skipping GBP
Friday
CAD GDP m/m 0.0% -0.1% Leaning green here myself despite of low oil prices.
USD ISM Manufacturing PMI 56.0 56.6 slight red and may print even reder.
I see all these beautiful scenarios playing out in my head mostly around these key currencies but always open to strike where there are opportunities.
It is just beautiful doing this I am excited by just thinking about it and doing this every week is $$$

My thoughts on next week. NZD Retail Sales q/q Looking forward to the NZD having some good action. I was thinking that the data would be better than expected, but there was the announcement "RBNZ Deputy Governor Geoff Bascand: Bank capital increase could lead to an eventual rate cut, plan may result in a marginal tightening in conditions" So I'm thinking might be a surprise in store for us. JPY SPPI y/y I'm thinking the JPY may be in the beginning of a very small recovery. I will be watching the JPY data all week very closely, if my suspicions are...
Its given results of news are hard to predict before.That's not what this is about its building awareness how news events shape price and YOU in it instead of distant viewer. There is real tangible difference that I can't even articulate.
I get PM's people asking me about what I think about News etc. I have real hard time conveying it because its something you must do and find for yourself if its helping you or not although no true general goes to battle without plan and study of terrine.... Its a battle of outsmarting your opponent in basic level.You can't do that by being ignorant.Market always knows what's coming up and this is constant! Question is do you?

So here are my thoughts on this weeks upcoming news
First I want to look back at last week because AUDUSD EURUSD AND EURAUD are my 3 favorite pairs and I also keep up with USDCAD AUDCAD and EURCAD I feel like building off the week before with Fundamentals is the best way to start since I may have missed something and I want to retrace my steps.
AUD
Wage Price Index q/q
0.5%0.6%0.6%
Came in a little low

Employment Change

Unemployment Rate

AUD Employment change came in over double positive more than was expected and AUD unemployment held 5.0% as expected
Over all AUD news was positive for the week in my opinion but on Friday it sold off some on AUDUSD and AUDCAD which leads me to believe that they are pushing price down to give another good entry on AUDCAD long for themselves. (CAD news I will get to shortly) I also have a long term bias on AUDCAD for a buy for a fairly long time because I love the zone it hit this week and may go back to this coming week. The zone on the daily that it touched and came right off of on the 15 min charts was the 61.8 fib on the daily which was the 138 Pivot (.93595) to the 76 fib (.92650) which would have been the 200 this past week from the most recent Daily swing low to the swing high, before they go up for the bigger move.

Spike back to 1250-60 support zone likely specially during Powell testimonies Tues CB Consumer Confidence is same time 10am as Powell hence if CB prints green and Powell can't stop singing about economy how "incredible" it is expect USD bulls to come out swinging!
Knowing this its wise not buy Euro on Monday! This is why we are studying the calendar because we are AWARE!
