DislikedYes, it is a random walk, BUT, random walk still generates a trend. Random walk still moves away from any reference line. Same thing is valid for coin flipping (instead of red/black you have head/tails). Do this instead of discussing: Take a coin, flip it as many times you need (you have also Google coin flipper), draw a line on a paper and just try the concept? You will see trends being generated and more up moves above the line / more down moves below the line.Ignored
DislikedPut a chart that you traded and prove or disprove the theory. Just talking is useless. See the name of the thread again.Ignored

Disliked{quote}Here you go. I did it for him. Don't count that 3 pips trade on EUR/USD and you get 37 pips on GBP/USD with 9 out of 10 in profit.{image}Attached ImageIgnored
Disliked{quote} 1) The current daily closing price can easily change (which is what we are trading) and can go lower/higher from the daily range boundaries 2) If the wining system is trading away from the open, then why are you trading reversals from the daily high/low in your 123 strategy ?Ignored
Disliked{quote} I am an advocate of not letting the broker know where the SL is. Even I don't know where it is. There is no STOP sign or traffic lights in trading to use Stop losses as an emergency brake. Can you do skids with your SL? Noobs place their SL in all the wrong places because they listen to you. Make it tight, right? And let your broker know.Ignored
DislikedIt still means that for those pundits out there who like a flutter or for those quants who like a theory, the opportunity for edge exploitation will always be there in a classical system. There is a distinct difference between intractability and impossibility. Technology can overcome the former whereas it cannot overcome the latter. It is only in the quantum domain that you meet impossibility head on. In the classical domain and that where you and I like to reside....'nothing is impossible'. :-)Ignored
Disliked{quote} I always wondered if it was a certainty that systems play had no edge why then does casinos place limitations, restrictions and obstructions of various kinds in our path. This is music to the ears that I might not be that crazy after all.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Let's get this clear: I'm not promoting any broker. I'm not associated with any broker. I don't advice people to use the same broker I use. I can't answer that straight, because people will attach their own agendas with it. All I'm saying is the broker is in Sydney Australia. It's an international company (UK, Canada, Hong Kong, France, Germany, US) and not a bucket shop broker. Refer back to my pics and ask other people what platform it is.Ignored
Disliked{quote} FXCM's Trade Station II. I really miss their awesome charting platform. I can no longer trade with them in the USA :-(Ignored

DislikedExample: While looking at if it will continue to rain over the next period of time: - using 1 second as the period, it is very likely that it will continue to rain over the next second, and over the second following that, and so on. - using a larger period such as 6 hours and this heavy tailed phenomenon becomes less apparent, waiting just 2 units of time: (2 units of time multiplied by 6 hours = 12 Hours) and the chances of it having continued to rain is almost random, but still not quite so. - How about 1 week, if it's raining right now, will...Ignored
