Hi again. I'm concerned there is an issue regarding spreads on GER30. This morning (UK) TS2 is regularly showing 3-4 point spread on live account. Yet MT4 is only showing 1 point, also live account. Clearly something wrong here! Edit: Change that ...

Hi Jason: By accident I hit Alt-b on an MT4 chart and got a list I've never seen before - only been using MT4 about 10 years! I think it's FXCM-specific as can't see reference to it anywhere else. Lets you place sell stop or buy stop orders at ...

Stop loss question — A quick question (which hopefully Paulus will answer if he's around!) on the stepped stop loss. Would the angled SL highlighted in the pic below be considered a valid SL point on the way down, or would it be skipped and ...

I'm still trading the "original" method and doing very nicely, apart from a bloody awful day last Friday, starting with my broker hitting a stop loss when the Alpari prices were a good 25 pips away It counteracted Thursday when I was finished ...

Pivotal moments — I don't trade (yet) using Nisha's method, I still use the original setup. But I do use pivots in my trading, they're invaluable when looking for TP targets. Just check out today's aususd chart below to see how often pivot ...

I think you've got your stoploss way too tight. I keep mine on the previous TM horizontal, as I've shown on your chart below. Then as TM climbs and flattens, pull it up to the next step. Hmmm - Stepped stop loss, sounds good I'll use that in future.

Hi gilly. I would say it's stalled partly because it's sitting right under the pivot and also very close to weekly S1. Don't know if you noticed but it's a typical pennant pattern. As it's quite a few bars since the initial trigger, I would wait for ...

Interesting, I entered short too, but my HGMTF 5m didn't change colour until 1 square after yours, so I'm in later after the big down candle. So I'm stuck in there about -12 down at the moment.

In that case, you're on your own, shame on you! Seriously, we had a good down trend until around 8.30 BST but it's flattened out since then and ranging for about 30 pips so you're not going to get higher value moves until it breaks the channel. Keep ...

Well I'm looking at the live prices offered as I write and there's definitely a 2 pip spread between them...

One week of Magic on the EURUSD — Initially, I was going to trade the coming week focused only on entries after pullbacks, as described by Paulus. But in my first, learning, week using this method I made well over 50 pips for the week which, ...

Happy to oblige, as I did yesterday! First trade of the day was cable, long @ 16415.5. SL at 16387, level with an earlier TM flat to give it some room. Stopped out for 28 pip loss. Because cable was choppy early, decided to try scaping 1 min and ...

Space Invaders return — I mentioned recently that the pattern on the HGMTF reminded me of the old space invaders arcade game. It was half in jest but there is no reason why a trend pattern shouldn't be a signal. A similar pattern occurred ...

Take the eurusd 5m chart below as an example. My HG indicator has 5 top line, 15 middle and 30 bottom. Price is below TM. 5 and 15 are already red. So wait for 5 to go blue, then trade the short when it goes red again, because one of the higher ...

Beware of aliens — I was looking at the HGMTF indi on today's eurusd and for some strange reason it reminded me of the original space invader games. (I know I don't look that old but I am ) Bottom picture. It signalled a strong move up (Top ...

I wish I'd stayed around and traded the reversal on the eurusd. About 40 pips up from entry trigger at the moment. Today's learnings: I'm going to stick with the 5min charts. Only going to trade B&B and eurusd. Remember to check for red-flag news. ...

Damn it, I need to get to Tesco's! Seriously, eurusd going well, 20+ pips at the moment and SL at breakeven, so whatever happens it's a free trade. And 5, 15 and 30 lights are all now red, let's hope that means it's got further to go...

The quandary — Do I move the SL down to next TM level now, as I think Paulus does, and risk getting stopped out early? Hmmmm, I think I will... Price hitting resistance at 13906 at the moment, bet if it breaks through it'll surge... (Also note ...

Have a look at post number 414 by Paulus, that should help. SL is at the previous horizontal TM line, I've put mine a couple of pips above it at 1.39380. You've pre-empted a question I was going to raise. Here's the chart with the entry just about ...
