Thanks for your report ! Very similar, indeed ! Seems I start to like MT5 now lol It's amazingly simple for multi-currency stuff ..

Yes, but we have to wait 4 years for the results lol Maybe a high frequency scalper EA would be more useful. Let it trade for a month, than backtest both and we should have something to compare.

Demo accounts running, Alpari UK, MT4 Market account vs MT5 ECN. Spread is worse on MT4 for EURUSD but with a TP of 165 $ that should not be important ..

Hi, the EA closes not at an exact value but "above" (TP) or "below" (SL). In an extreme volatile market situation it will certainly close pretty wrong. To improve that I would recommend to insert TP and SL into the Orders using OrderModify(). I ...

Exit is when TP or SL is hit. This thing is basically just a proof of concept or .. disproof You need to runs this through the Optimizer first to determine working TP/SL levels for the timeframe you like to test. It seems that this EA only works ...

Here the version without Spread checks: file
- NeuroBeep replied Sep 9, 2014
The EA works only if the spread is 1 point (0.00001) which was done to reduce spread costs. You can remove this spread check in the code.

If the EA doesn't work try to set the Spread to 1 in the tester. Well there is no real logic behind this EA, its just a test of random trading. But as mentioned by the previous posters it may not be exactly random in fact. Its still optimizing, but ...

I think spreads are fixed in MT4 during backtesting. Its coded in a way that in theory trades are entered only if the spread is 1 point. Doesn't apply in backtesting anyway afaik. Data is from Dukascopy as it's the main datasource in Tickstory. Once ...
