Position trading — Using the MA10 and PMA10 cross to trade Gold gives a trade every few days to weeks and works very well, but it doesn't work with the forex currencies I have. I've experimented with entry mechanisms of PHigh less a margin or ...

Intraday data — Hi floridaforex, Would you mind posting this data, or a link to it? I think a lot of backtesters would appreciate it.

Data timing — Might this have something to do with what data you're collecting? I'm with CRB and when I asked them about timing they answered as follows: Gold - COMEX: open @ 1p, close @ 12:30p CST EUR-USD - CME: open @ 5p, close @ 2p CST ...

CP, Zarni, I think I've found a flaw on the exit. After the cross signal to exit, you exit at the closing price for the same day, but by the time we have the data the closing price has gone. Please let me know if I've missed something here.

VP Gold last week — Hi canoner, I think the marketing of VP concerns most users, but their claim for gold last week is valid if you base the entry on either the predicted 5 or 10 day moving average crossing the actual ma. Easy with hindsight ...

External data for VP — I only have 3 markets at present and confirm that there are only 3 up to date .mdb files in the VP database folder. So I asked emailed Market tech and asked them to explain how the Intermarket analysis works. He told me ...

Intraday data — I do agree this may help, but there is a further complication: The OCHL data we're getting is for New York 8.00 am - 5.00 pm, and yet a lot of us are trading out of these hours for which there is no data. So our hi lo's could ...

swing trade back test — Hi Zarnie, 1. From what I've read, an MA is supposed to filter out noise from the actual price. So the predicted MA should ideally be the actual price without fluctuations. This should give better results than a close. ...
