[quote=KarlKraus;13956754] Wow, scary drawdown, there: over 50%?! But only if you'd decided not to let a drawdown of over 50% in 2018 stop you from trading it? Would you really continue trading it, after that? Or would you draw on your great ...

I'd actually say this signal has a 15-25% ish max DD, with an odd outlier that went over 50%. It was still a 46% return year... The other 4 years show a reasonable drawdown. If you prefer lower risk, then I have a more conservative version currently ...

And what better to wait than an automated system - no human error there. So tell me, other than "be careful during a breakout", how are you deciding when to wait and when to enter?

by no means am I trying to be a dick here. Full respect to TS and others here. I think the discretion around how to manage the trade, ie when to TP is the factor here that separates winners from losers. Oh and btw, building and fully testing an EA ...

Yes, I don't want to discuss EA. I am just saying from my observations, over the long term this does not appear to be profitable. I am happy to be corrected by someone who has long term experience (+12 months) of this method.

This thread has been going for years, but is anyone actually making money with this long term? I have built an EA for testing this method and it is not profitable...

Is there some code I can insert into my EA that will only allow it to function between specific hours?

I thought your main entry was stop orders beyond the daily high and low upto 16:00 broker time. You seem to have many different methods, all with different SL/TPs

If you get stopped out at b/e - do you set another stop order to get back in at the same level or at the new high/low?

I made a post previously which doesn't seem to have caught anyones attention. However initial reviews I've done look good. Enter the trade after break of the daily h/l level, with an arbitrary SL (say 100). After the current 5min bar closes (so in ...

Look at using the h/l of the 5min bar that triggers the order. So initial SL at say 50, then after 5 minutes move it to the h/l of the last bar. This gives a really tight SL back within the range. If trade is good then price should breakout quickly ...

High to SELL STOP is 337. ADR is about 400, which leaves only 63 points. Most of the ADR range is already consumed. What is your TP for todays sell?

Is that the 200+- of open method, or the stop orders at the h/l before US market open method?
- andys0506 replied Mar 23, 2021
so the last 6 months of the year was pretty much breakeven?
- andys0506 replied Mar 23, 2021
The indicator has a time delta value so you can set to any hour. As we are all in different timezones I am trying to work out exactly what time "open" is and "16:00". All brokers differ so you can't say "broker time" otherwise the method will create ...

thanks kp. And what time do you use as your 'daily open' ?
- andys0506 replied Mar 23, 2021
Hi, interesting method. By 16:00 broker time do you mean 13:00 GMT / 08:00 EST (ie. US Market open) ? And by open price do you mean the price at 22:00 GMT / 17:00 EST (ie close of US market). Thanks
