Do you tend to wait to see how price reacts at a level instead of entering on a blind touch trade?

NFP is tomorrow.

Yes but more specifically it means Rounded Retest - so we want to see price form an 'arc' as it returns to the level for the first time, rather than an immediate retest.

EURCAD — Took a trade last night on EURCAD, first one since studying your method LJ. Went short at 1.2652, S/L above 1.2667. I exited at the pink line, 1.2634. I defined this as my FLS. However, I'm not sure if this was really too minor a ...

Understood, thanks LJ.

Hi LJ I've been looking at your method over the past few weeks and it has really improved my trading, thank you. Regarding the E/J trade that you just missed out on, was your order around 101.84 as this was the SR level due to the lows created on ...

Correct.

The Wizard would want 3 previous touches of that level in order to take a TT there. If there are less than 3 touches, we need confluence at that level in order to justify taking a TT. The confluence that Wizard uses is ATR, Daily bias or an SFP. ...

Thanks for the charts Kerinsp. Which provider do you use for your stock charts and do you get real time data? I've noticed FXPro provide real time data for some Nasdaq and NYSE stocks but not all. Currently trialling stockcharts.com but not that ...

Great charts, keep em coming!

I would say that level has been tested too many times to take an SFP there. Would be more interested in seeing price break through that level and then come back for a retest to go long.

The swing point needs to be a deep swing so it needs to move into the swing point and then move away from the swing point, could say that it needs to be in a 'V' formation. Therefore the SFP can't be on the bar next to the swing point. I would ...

FTA is based on H1 charts unless you have D1 bias (e.g. pinbar, SFP, outside bar) when you would base your target on the D1 chart. I recommend reading the whole thread before diving in.

I was too greedy with my entry but nothing you can do about it!

I still have my order in - I know that bar got close but I think it is a really strong level, around 5 touches so another reaction is possible if it retests. My order is a little higher though, just above 1.0200.

Thanks nymeria and Quidsey for your replies. Very good advice. I'm keeping a record of the SFPs I have rejected and the reasons for rejecting them so over time, I should get idea of what constitutes an A+ SFP setup and which are substandard. I will ...

Was in 2 minds on this one because the level was actually support last just after the breakout back in February, so I passed. Does look like a strong level though. There is a level down at 77.75 which also looks like a good solid level and this was ...

Gold SFP? — Has anyone taken the Gold SFP? I haven't as I wasn't sure if the swing point was significant enough and I couldn't find any other confluence to encourage me to take the trade. I do struggle with defining exactly how significant a ...

Fair point Matt, I hadn't actually looked at the earlier highs, was just looking at the more recent ones.

On my feed, the SFP high was exactly the same as the swing high so I didn't take the trade. I think Tom has stated in the past that the SFP high must exceed the swing high for it to be a valid SFP.
