As an additional aside - I haven't been studying FX long enough to know - Is this risk appetite/risk aversion thing always been around in FX or is it a phenomenon created since the global econ meltdown? or maybe now just more volatile and more ...

Exactly the type of response I was looking for. I usually don't go against the D1 PA/kumo trend and hate to sit aside while very nice counter trends go by. The risk, obviously, is getting into a false counter trend or getting in at the end. In ...

4X, Now that's what I'm talking about. You have no problem going long with the D1 & H4 below the kumo? And what's tipping you off on the risk trade coming off? And how are you determining 1.067 & 1.070? Thanx

Are you looking for EU H1 kumo break north? or bounce off kumo for continuation of the counter trend? (which would be opposed to D1 trend) Either way sounds risky. How do you decide when this strong counter trend off the psychological 1.50 level is ...

current moves — FXaddict, SM and others, In this current counter, risk averse move, you're obviously not looking to higher TF PA vs Kumo levels, so what are your primary trend confirmations? Are you essentially playing kumo breaks w/ S&R? Are ...

Doc, Glad you find them helpful. I was thinking about that. It's kind of a balance between usefulness and clutter. I was thinking of maybe adding 2 of the "important" ones like D1 & H1 further to the right that always remain the same, and then a ...

custom indies — Hey Guys, I've created a couple of custom indicators that are really just ichi-aids. No new concepts just an easy way of seeing some of the available ichi info. The first one - HigherTF_TSKS , puts a couple of hash marks just ...

Well we're kinda on the same page, but I won't play the retrace, but am waiting it out for resumption of the trend. Am waiting to see if UCAD reverses when it soon bumps into the formidable kumo on the H4 The AU has twice bounced off its SB line on ...

New Week — I'd like to hear your logic behind: AU short UCAD long and to a lesser degree UCHF long I'm looking the other direction on those 3

File under the "obsessing too much?" category...... So, I'm driving down the highway yesterday and I see this oddly shaped cloud ahead with a flat bottom that kind of tapered down on the right side into a pinch, with a bit of a color change. I ...

That's why I was asking. It would take a pretty wide SL to cover a "other side of kumo" SL on an H4, if you could get a good lower TF jump and move to BE.....Lots more stress free, but at the cost of more risk of getting stopped I suppose.

So, when you enter, you enter w/ H4 in mind. Do you use H4 SL and trail the KS right away or do you SL on a lower TF and propagate up to higher TF as price allows?

Vic, On that USDCAD H4 possible entry - any concerns about the lower TFs looking bullish, especially H1 & M30? Or are you expecting them to flip by the time your H4 shows good. I guess what I'm asking is in your experience do the lower TFs usually ...

I'll third that recommendation for the Covell book, read it about a year or so ago & now y'all got me thinking about pulling it off the bookshelf again. For an EXCELLENT book on money management/risk management try Dr. Van Tharp's Safe Strategies ...

Vic & Giny, What are you looking for on these upper TF trades I is "complete signal" the usual just shifted up) and how high up the TF ladder do you look, All the way to MN1, I presume. Do you still look to lower TF for exact entry or just widen ...

Vic, I love it when you "think out loud" for us like this. That point about relating different S/R points (TS, KS, Kumos etc) across different TFs looking for agreement between two or more was a key piece I was missing. It keeps getting clearer. ...

Yes, a bird in the hand.... I'm thinking though that unlike the entries, which require a lot of trader decision re: upper TFs and multiple scenarios, the exit could lend itself to an exit EA. Maybe peeling off in thirds. First third to cover ...

Exits — I agree w/ most sentiment on the Exits. It always seemed to me that exiting was the least defined aspect of this strategy and that discrete 30 or 50 pip TPs often left massive amounts of pips in other peoples pockets. My manual ...

Finally Done reading — Got thru all the posts from pg 1 thru 101. (when I started reading there were only 65). Tedious, but worth it. Some good gems in there. I'm excited to finally be able to start monitoring some live trades after the ...
