Maybe you're misreading. We are getting out of this already, first signs of recovery all around. There will be difficult months ahead but for now, we can take a break from the panic. We were already getting upside risk from positive outcomes in the EU and now Powell says a version of "whatever it takes". So this is good, stocks up, and the dollar, functioning as a safe haven, is down. Everything in order. In Spanish, the word for 'investment' is 'inversión' which means something like 'doing the opposite'. I always think that's the reason why contrarian analysis work. Just try to relax, clear the head, and keep following the trend. Don't try to see the future.

When you say that there are signs of recovering are you then referring to the Corona or the business sentiment? There may well be signs that there is a recovery from the Corona but businesses and consumer sentiment is HARD HIT. People are laid off in huge bulks, 25 millions in the US and it isn't over yet.

Stocks may well get back to square and even make new highs. If that happens then this is nothing less than a robbery from the hard working tax payers and a simple transfer of wealth to the richest. All focus is on capital markets. Billions of billions of dollars is given to businesses that have not saved a penny during 10 years permanent bull market. They should instead get the money from the share holders and not from the hard working people. If the share holders are not willing to chip in then probably society should not either.

The hard working people that are laid off get 1200 USD. That is it. Maybe then can buy a new tent for the trailer park.

Sorry, I love the US and lived there for several years while studying but I don't like what I see now.

And to continue. If public money need to go into multi billion multinationals then at least they should give the public shares in return so that the existing shareholders gets outwashed as opposed to now where they carry no risk and just enjoy the cream. The shares could then be given to the unions or trusts.

I agree. But that is EXACTLY what happened in the 2008 Great Recession, a transfer of wealth. Do you want to get mad or do you want to make money? What are we doing here? The last time I looked, this was the Forex Factory, not the 'XYZ Political Magazine'.

I make my money from the markets and have no problem doing so. But I still reserve the right to think critical about society outside the trading arena. And I don't fancy the idea that the working people should bail out the rich ones again.

So what they should have done was to fund the consumers/working people and provide certainty to them not loosing their jobs. If direct funding of companies are necessary it has to come with obligations, e.g. whatever you used to buy back shares and dividend distributed over the past fie years is injected into the company by the share holders. Then it could be defended because it would be clear to everbody that that the risk from investing in shares gives a higher yield because of the greater risk. As it is now it just gives a high yield and comes with no risk. Stock market was never supposed to work like that (:

The wash up after the last crash was it wasn't handled the best. Lessons should be learned and used on the next crash.
Crash came quicker than expected but come on fellas it was twelve years and seemingly no plan was made so we will have to kick that can again (ouch).
Ok we need a plan for the next time because if we did kick it into the grass and lets face it at present thats a big IF.
The can will be back with us in a LOT LESS THAN 12 YEARS.
The elites think we are stupid. They are in the main quite correct.

Current PE is based on last year earnings. I don't know how badly business going to suffer this year. The current share price might have already been too expensive. Again, the optimism and momentum keeps driving up the price.
