  • Trump wins biggest-ever WTO ruling, opening the door for $7.5 billion of tariffs on Europe

    From businessinsider.com

The World Trade Organization on Wednesday gave the US the go-ahead to slap roughly $7.5 billion worth of tariffs on the EU on aircraft parts and luxury goods. The long-awaited ruling comes as Trump had been looking to step up his trade war with the EU, having already hit the trade bloc with 25% tariff on steel and has threatened a $75 billion tariff on autos from Europe. The tariffs would be the latest escalation in a decades-long standoff over EU-based Airbus and US-based Boeing, with each country claiming that the aircraft companies are illicitly aided by government funds. Is Trump now the same as USA? This is something that started years ago and Trumpo has had nothing to do with it.

Go ahead. Just destroy the global economy further.

US manufacturing data shows that US is not winning in any of this.

Ya. Those PMI surveys still negative for another month.. And most the qualitative statements are about the uncertainty around trade war. Could lead to negative GDP down the road

Brexit combined with massive US tariffs will surely send the euro into the 'grandfather' of all bear markets. Go short the EUR/GBP.

I think it's all fake and not even remotely something the avg American citizen should be worried about, because there's nothing we can do. All we are witnessing is the battle and shifting of power among the elite for which we do not belong and have no say except when we are goaded or incited by media news that portraits a minute section of how they actually live and work all the time.

Assuming Trump is truly a good guy - and I'm not saying he is - the whole point of the reversal of tariffs is to halt the US taxpayer funding the globe with their taxpayer money. It's still a very bad idea on so many levels. It's crushing economies.

We all know "they" want global government and redistribution of wealth. Well, they had already been doing it in part through tariffs. If this is legit, it's actually quite stunning because they have been attempting to establish massive amounts of this redistribution through climate change. It wasn't enough before!

The love of money is the root of all evil, the saying goes. I had NO idea just exactly HOW massive that evil could be.

Imagine you and your buddies quietly siphoning off trillions of dollars to keep and share, but you want MORE? It's disgusting.

Anyway, fun speculation. I just hope they keep the markets running so we can continue to pip away.

Peace.

When will they have enough money?

I am surprised how many are willing to pay more taxes.

Tariffs are nothing else than taxes that you have to pay for when you buy products and services that are impacted by these tariffs and are getting more expensive this way. So most of you like inflation?

If you are rich tarifs will have a far smaller impact on your overall tax payments than if you are poor, because every consumer pays the same while income and wealth taxes typically have progression where the rich pay far more than the poor percentage wise compared to income and wealth.

That's the reason why Doncon and his cronies like tarifs. The fun part of it is that Doncon's voter base is probably the one who will be impacted worst. However, will take them a few years to get it....

Now expect that the EU implements counter tarifs the same size so no net adavantage for both sides but higher taxes for all citizens in both places....

Now you understand who will be the winners in all of this.
Do you belong to the winners?

So how does China get away with State subsidizing development of its own airbus wannabe? They were admitted to the WTO but have NEVER played by the rules.
