Robert Shiller: Less than 50% chance of US recession
Nobel Prize-winning economist Robert Shiller believes there is less than a 50% chance of a US recession next year, defying investors who have taken their most bearish stance since March 2016. The Yale professor told Financial News a recession would arrive “eventually”, but he could not say with a high degree of certainty it would begin in 2020. “Whether it’s coming next year, I can’t be sure,” he said.
