In its policy response during the recession and the subsequent economic recovery, the Committee lowered the federal funds rate to its effective lower bound (ELB) and provided additional monetary policy accommodation through both forward guidance about the expected path of the ... • Fed members affirm ‘midcycle adjustment,’ see no ‘pre-set course’ for cuts, minutes show

    From cnbc.com

video Federal Reserve officials who voted to lower interest rates three weeks ago agreed that the move shouldn’t be viewed as an indication that there is a “pre-set course” for future cuts, according to meeting minutes released Wednesday. The summary indicated that policymakers viewed the move as a “mid-cycle adjustment,” an expression Chairman Jerome Powell used in a news conference afterward that was seen as contributing to a stock market sell-off after the July 30-31 meeting. Markets have been pricing in a series of rate cuts, so Powell’s use of the term spread concern that the Fed might not be as ... (full story)

Typical August for the EURO. Everyone takes the month off and goes on holiday. It sure is showing that to be the case, this was the worst month for EURO trading I've had since last Fall.

Many times when the news or event is this important, the release itself merely sets up the actual play to follow, up or down (depending on how your set up reading works). It can look like nothing happened but the market will set up the sequence to follow in a series of fast action chaotic ups and downs on release then position for the next day based on the balance of forces in the remaining e.g. Gold 3 or so hours of the trade day (which clearly is not enough time to express the full scope of any significant impact). Next day may look more impressive -----> releasing the full force of the bottled up impact and catching many by surprise because at that point the mind of many traders may have moved on. Lets not forget it is a market not an economics laboratory. It certainly does not look a farce to me -------> watching Gold for direction based on the views above. But of course if by tomorrow we see no strong directional moves we can look elsewhere for volatility.

Inflation currently undershooting 2% symmetric target.
One more 25 pts cut in 2019 then they sit in neutral thru-out 2020
Certainly not any advocates of aggressively reversing current monetary policy.
General view is policy is still accommodating enough.

Powell going to be Bland on Friday.

USD not going to move because of Fed but overseas activity will move it given large enough event.

Last cut was no “pre-set course” for further cuts.
It was just a “mid-cycle adjustment”... no cuts frenzy, cool down business mad people!

I was not pretending to be the prophet here or say "I totally predicted this", just light banter, mate.

Myself, I only ever trade a pattern that's in progress, I never predict anything.

start the demo account , an just focus or one or two markets . like eurusd and gbpusd or usdjpy . try to have a plan . when you enter based on that plan and when you exit . and just trade at a specific time of the day . like london session . and start reading and reading and reading . there are a lot of thing that you must read , and i myself think all the succesful traders are continuosly learners . it never stops . start and you will succed be sure about that
