  • China and Europe playing big currency manipulation game

China and Europe playing big currency manipulation game and pumping money into their system in order to compete with USA. We should MATCH, or continue being the dummies who sit back and politely watch as other countries continue to play their games - as they have for many years!

Because the countries where EUR, AUD and GBP belong to, have much worse economy than what USA has.

Yes Mr. President this has been going on for decades.
Either attempt to play the same game OR unleash America and let the Horses Run.
Are you afraid of offering entrepreneurs the room to let loose or have you surrounded yourself with advisors who have no belief in the Power of American innovators.
You were elected to unleash America and break with the World system. Yet at the G20 all you wanted to do was cut deals.

Come on, that's "market primary school" ... yield differentials, simple ... why should a currrency of a country should be valuable if it pays less interesst? ... Well, their could be other releveant (read: huge) reasons why "the world" wants to buy a low yielding currency. E.g. the country issues the reserve curreny of the world (EU: no, China: no) or the country runs a huge trade surplus and factors most of it in its currency (EU: not much, China: no) ... let me phrase it differently? Why should the world buy Euro when the Eurozone (in its total) has not yet recovered from the 2007/2008 collapse? ...

Now you: Why should the world ask for Euros?

how about china?!!! take a look at the trade balance between china and us?!!! why must it be that negative? you think china productions are much better than us?! no, it's not like this buddy, they did it with devaluing currency, they make their productions more competitive with devaluing. don't you really accept this reality usd currently is too expensive? it seems obvious to me, let me ask you a question, at the moment, being expensive usd is in favor of us's economy or other countries? i think the answer is clear.

Lol..USD is actually very undervalued vs Euro and GBP. Both must be at best on parity level or below-to start saying overvalued!!!
US economy had been doing very well after Trump election.
Only that his FED and interest rates comments are very off-base and ruining the USD advance.
If he can just focus on his job as a president and leave the financial sector to the FED to decide independently and without his always pressuring!!!
My technical analysis leading trades depend on Daily/Weekly/Monthly Chart

What Trump calls currency manipulation isn't what it is. He can do the same if he wish to, if he wants to hurt his economy.

Some may laugh, but its actually worrying that Mr Trump appears (at least IMHO), unable to grasp the fundamentals of macroeconomics, and entertains some extraordinary persecution obsesion that the rest of the world is trying to shaft America and him personally as POTUS.. No disrespect to US colleagues but these outbursts, for guys that have know the business are getting a bit silly, and dangerous. It will be sad if Mr Trumps legacy ends in trade wars, deconstruction of Americas decades of carefully nurtured economic hegemony and strategic alliances, and tips us all into global recession.

populations: 500million, Eur is currency of 19 countries. Europe has been one of the best place for investing, therefore there is always demand for investing in there. besides that, Europe is one of the most lovely places for tourism industry, it's obvious there will always be demanding for Eur, INDEED, Eur has always its own demand. the good state of trade balance and tourism industry in Europe is because of being low Eur. devaluing currency is one of the best policy in our competitive world, china, Europe and a few more countries use it properly

How come no one has mentioned all the junk bonds that US has sold to China?
Is it correct that the stronger USD is, the higher interest they have to pay on those bonds and the weaker USD is, the less interest?
If that is the case , US should want a weaker currency.
Can someone who knows about this stuff comment on China bonds please?

If he was so honest, he would tweet that he is fully in charge of transforming capitalism into fascism to counter its failures.
China managed to dig itself out of having to deal with a starving population into a superpower but in that same span of time, US has descended to a point where it has to compete with a previously starving country.
Desperate times call for desperate measures and Humpty Trumpy is the man for you to do it.

They were in power too long before. And they are still in power in certain states, like Cali, which is why its becoming such a dump in the recent decade.

How is Trump blocking people from having other opinions? Check social media...facebook, instagram, twitter...they ban conservatives all the time and keep liberals even if they attack in the same way. Thats fascism, just showing the opinions that suit them and silence the others.

It's funny... he is for joining the manipulation game (openly) instead of trying to stop/prevent/limit it...
What he is suggesting is no doubt very good thing for the economy (in a short term)... but disaster in the longer run.. But hey, if he doesn't do it now (and maybe jeopardise the elections).. the next guy will and take the TURBO BOOST credits

But yeah... I love how he understands the game (hopefully) and try to exploit it to his benefits
Can you afford to take that chance?

I think Trump's focus is mostly on trade balances and equities appreciation, and that this type of tweet attempts to influence future Fed rate decisions, which may not take any notice of his views - so it could be seen as attempted manipulation.

If the Fed does take notice we will see it coming in policy adjustments and members' rhetoric.
Believe you can and make it happen.

Who told you EU idea is going to collapse, you speak brainwashed-ish political stuff now. EU is stronger than ever even if some indicators dont say so, like each union there is some disagreement but it is not hidden from the people and the media. Unlike some other places ruled by dictators.

Trump after incurring a huge budget deficit of around $1 trillions is now trying to blame others to further print more dollar.
Its best dollar die as an international reserve currency and return to gold standard.

What Trump calls currency manipulation isn't what it is. He can do the same if he wish to, if he wants to hurt his economy.

He can't... only the FED can.

{quote} how about china?!!! take a look at the trade balance between china and us?!!! why must it be that negative? you think china productions are much better than us?! no, it's not like this buddy, they did it with devaluing currency, they make their productions more competitive with devaluing. don't you really accept this reality usd currently is too expensive? it seems obvious to me, let me ask you a question, at the moment, being expensive usd is in favor of us's economy or other countries? i think the answer is clear.

China is starting to have negative overall trade balance now. 2019 May I guess was - $28 billions.
Also, in China, minimum salary is around $500 monthly.

tell me please, why must ¥/$ be too low? do you think china's economy is that weak? there isn't enough exchange reserves and gold in china? not of course, so why should it be?
not true what you are saying. average wage is between 8000-10000$ per month in china. it's more than the average of global wage.

It's usually not how much you're paid for your work but rather how much you can buy with these earnings.
