I will begin with a progress report on the broad public review my Federal Reserve colleagues and I are conducting of the strategy, tools, and communication practices we use to achieve the objectives Congress has assigned to us by law—maximum employment and price stability, or the dual mandate.     Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stressed the central bank’s independence in a speech Tuesday that comes amid continuous pressure from the White House to cut interest rates. one thing that stood out from his speech, "economy was doing well, everything was fine" until MAY.. def change from prev statement. Same time he state "will not base monetary policy" based on few eco/financial data

in their words... "the fed is insulted...", they know they are wrong, they have to cut rates if they want economic growth. they are insulted because they don't like to be told they are wrong. pretty soon the numbers will be so bad... it will be an embarrassment.

he is basically saying his agenda is more important... you are right! he doesn't care about Trump's pressure
-so really the fed has more power than the President (or somewhere in there is a really fine line and the fed can now waste everyone's time splitting hairs when really... President Trump is RIGHT!!!)

Right or wrong but he is the one causing the recession:
"The manufacturing sector already has an inventory overhang and this is depressing new orders while there is also a growing sense of paralysis in the sector. Do firms go through the expensive process of on-shoring production back to the US or looking for non-Chinese suppliers only to find that President Trump has changed his position again and tariffs aren’t hiked? Or do they instead carry on with business as usual and risk higher tariffs that put up costs and hurt profit margins? Faced with such uncertainty many firms may simply sit on their hands and do nothing. This implies a slowdown in investment and hiring, which in turn leads to lower consumer spending and the rising threat of recession."

When unemployment starts to go up, fed will start to cut rates.
