In a speech after the result, May raised the possibility of new elections. The pound tumbled on the results. "We are reaching the end of this process in this House," May said. The truth is, whether it's brexit or no brexit, gbp is going to 1.1600. a downside "big crunch" moment for the pound.

I think the ball is in the EU's court now they will decide what Brexit the UK has, best guess is a flush out all of the toxic UK politicians out of their parliament and offer a deal where they have total control of the UK but they can have access to the single market and customs union. Otherwise it'll be walk away with nothing where the UK has planned absolutely nothing, with that option the EU will watch the collapse and wait for the UK to come with cap in hand saying please help. The GBP will be lost forever, no vetos, minimal representation of parliament there basically like a fledgling new member that has to sign up all sovereignty. Well done UK politicians even the muppets couldn't have done better than you

Pound tumbles? Speaking of GJi it was a nomral day, high volatility yes, but everything else is still in range. I exepcted a more clearer direction after this vote. 144 is a bold resistence and it looks like market has still some faith in postive outcome for Brexit. The real decision is postponed to next week.
So after today's results, the UK's chance to leave the EU on April 12th is very big .... GBP will melt ...

I don't understand one thing...Brits say they want out of the EU, so dumb EU politicians don't decide over their country. But watching UK politicians, they are probably the dumbest politicians on this planet, so what will happen when these morons take over the country? Can you imagine? UK will be a 3rd world country within couple years.

I wouldn't call dropping a cent against USD and EUR 'tumbling'. If anything, GBP is holding up nicely. And no, it's thoroughly overvalued. The markets have ruled out a no-deal scenario and it seems that GBP isn't tumbling because they think a second referendum is a likelihood. Personally, I suspect a general election is the only thing that's likely to occur going forth from here, and I doubt it will deliver a resounding victory for any party. It'll be a hung Parliament and more of the same.

But don't make the mistake of assuming that more of the same means the UK will fare well as long as it doesn't crash out. Prolonged uncertainty is arguably more damaging than any Brexit outcome. What do you reckon the impact on the UK economy will be of several months of this nonsense? It ain't pretty.

Sterling was at much lower levels than it currently is at when a hard Brexit seemed less likely.

Today is a total opposite of Friday; all major currencies lost value to the GBP.
Yes, on short term I'm buying in almost all GBP pairs ;-) And on EURGBP I'm doing both: buying with a PT at 0.86000 and selling with a PT at 0.85490.
