I don't know about you lot, but I'm sick to death of this bullshit Brexit betrayal by a hardcore section of the ruling class who simply refuse to honor the results of a simple in/out referendum everybody understood until one side lost. The remainers then clamor for a ' People's vote ', hoping that somehow at least some of those who were too thick to vote remain the first time around would realize the error of their ways a second time around.

Now they want to take 'no deal', by far the best bargaining chip we have, off the table, when a no deal Brexit would be far worse for the European Union than it would be for us, as we buy way more from the EU than if buys from us, and, we would get to keep our £39 Billion, no small sum that's for sure.

I'm sick and tired of this charade, and there are millions of others who feel exactly the way I do.

Will we walk away kicking stones and sulking with our hands in our pockets if they keep us tied to the EU through the back door? Not a chance!

The chances of a no deal are greater now than they have been since the day of the referendum. The pound continued to fall in 2016, something it had been doing since 2014 after going pretty much sideways for four years following the heavy falls of 2008/9, rose throughout all of 2017, fell in 2018, and having found support on 12,500 against the dollar, technical support I called at the time on this forum, is now rising again, so nothing at all to do with Brexit beyond the knee jerk intra-day reactions to news, support that is most likely to hold even if we leave with no deal. The Eurozone on the other hand will be in deep difficulty if we leave with our 39 billion, so expect the euro to plummet in the event of a no deal, not the pound.

The EU is a sinking ship, and we fortunately, are getting out of it just in time.

It has been estimated that the UK GDP will drop some 10-20% in case of a hard brexit. If it would be much worse for EU, the GDP in EU should maybe drop some 20-30% or maybe EU would outright collapse and totally cease to exist as the EU haters wish. Think again.

It is interesting to see how high some people value UK's economical input considering that the country represents only some 10% of the EU population.
No doubt that EU's exports to UK would drop somewhat as the poor Brits would have much less money to buy expensive European goods with their devalued currency. Actually goods from any country would become much more expensive.

It's extremely easy for EU to just say, "The only deal UK is going to get is the one on the table, take it or leave without it."

I see you are from Finland. I know your country well, have lived there, and have many Finnish friends. Almost all Finns I have ever known are fiercely patriotic, proud of their country and their heritage, and would fight, as they have in the past, to protect their country and their way of life. What do you know therefore about the country I come from, its people, its values and its heritage? Very little by the sound of your bigoted and childlike comment.

Fortunately, the Finnish people I know and love do not share your churlish prejudice for that which they know little. They are well above that.

I saw a little documentary about Cornwall 3 years ago and they absolutely hated the EU, it even scared me.
But as it turns out the EU is fine now they wanna stay.
I don't know what has changed, but this kind of overwhelming EU support you won't even find within the EU27 !

I think you need to do some research on the EU plans and objectives. O course you may well not care about sovereignty, but many Brits do.
NO to ever closer centralization, NO to federalism. NO to the undermining of our democracy.
Well, that's my two bob's worth. Of coarse it is after forty years of partnership, going to be difficult, but its a big world out there, of around 270 or so countries.

My point was that it is somewhat ridiculous to claim that a hard brexit would be much worse for EU than UK. I guess you totally missed the point and instead decided to attack me personally. For me patriotism is doing what's good for your country based on real facts instead of believing populist lies. Finland has one of the most educated population in the world and that's one of the reasons why people understand the benefits of free trade and movement instead of blaming EU for the mistakes of national politicians. The support for EU and euro is thus very high.
We have also had our populist movement and once people found out that most claims and promises were based on lies they became a marginal group. This will also happen in other countries as simple solutions to complicated issues will never work. People like to believe in fairy tales but that doesn't change the reality. The British people are about to learn this the hard way.

Isolation and nationalism does not help any country to achieve common goals such as fighting global warming and terrorism. Neither does it help the economy. EU is needed now more than ever to fight against the growing influence of several authoritarian powers who are trying to undermine our democracy.
