The US Dollar is falling against the recovering euro and more prominently against commodity currencies. Why is the greenback grinding lower? Here are the reasons. 1) Roger Stone arrested Roger Stone, a former adviser to Donald Trump, was arrested in Florida. He is being charged with lying about his cooperation with Wikileaks about the release of damaging material against Hillary Clinton in the campaign. They're always making up some supposed reason for a move, it's quite comical.

Lol. Material that a DNC employee stole on a thumb drive. The corruption of this "investigation" is astounding. How can it even still be going, but without corruption.

Have to go after Stone so as to get Bannon, who is raising the populist outcry in Europe.
Just be good little communists and you won't get bothered.

Yes, more likely due to the massive credit stimulus by China. more free money available to go deeper in debt.
Also the perception that Fed has completely given up on normalization of policy.
Investors back to chasing yield and Risk no matter what.

For Information

in last 48 hours..
Morgan Stanley said "Pound very cheap", and Goldman guided that Brexit would be good for Sterling suggesting it could top currency gainers in 2019.. and that would rally on decline of no-deal Brexit dangers. Sentiment growing that a softer, later or even no brexit were back on horizon.
GBP has rallied 5 straight weeks.
Is no one listening?

Shutdown is a side show - as far as the players are concerned. Trump is trying to deliver on his election boasts - the Dems will try and thwart him constantly - basically to make sure there can be no second term for Trump. Meanwhile global economic slowdown consequences have been obscured by this 'poker game' - once the Chinese New Year is passed and workers find there is no work on offer - downsizing etc. Then maybe the focus will shift to the bigger issue - before the trillion dollar US (trade war) tariffs kick in. Expecting 2019 to be an 'interesting year'.

Reflected some on Stone arrest, seems to me a good defense attorney will be making those DNC emails and such public record.
Does DNC really want public awareness of that content?

The arrest could have been handled in a manner such as telling Stone's attorney there was a warrant out and he should surrender, but no, Mueller had to go in and play Eliot Ness.
Fanatics cut both ways with unintended consequence.
