In 1704, Anglo-Dutch forces captured Gibraltar from Spain during the War of the Spanish Succession on behalf of the Habsburg claim to the Spanish throne. The territory was ceded to Great Britain in perpetuity under the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713. During World War II it was an important base for the Royal Navy as it controlled the entrance and exit to the Mediterranean Sea, which is only 8 miles (13 km) wide at this naval "choke point". It remains strategically important, with half the world's seaborne trade passing through the strait.
The sovereignty of Gibraltar is a point of contention in Anglo-Spanish relations because Spain asserts a claim to the territory.*
.... now Spain sees a good chance for payback I guess

We haven't been at war with Spain for over 400 years. Perhaps they should be allowed Gibraltar back. While we are at it, give back the "Elgin" marbles to Greece.

Spain has no intention of recuperating any Gibraltar territory, it's just that as Gibraltar is going to go out of EU, Spain is legitimately asking a clear statement on the exit agreement to clearly specify the rights of the 10K Spaniards working in Gibraltar plus the the status of near seas (fishing) plus environment and border (police & customs) , that's all!
Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication.

So on that basis should the plazas de soberanía be "allowed" back to Morocco? AND for Spain to return all gold and treasures plundered during their conquests?

Traders FYI...
Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory. ... (part of the British Empire that has not been granted independence or has voted to remain British territories.)
These territories do not form part of the United Kingdom. Gibraltar is tiny (Pop 34k) but was given a unique hybrid status because of its location, within European Union, on the coattails of the UK membership. (Gibraltarians registered as UK citizens* were actually allowed a vote in the 2016 referendum and voted 95% to remain in EU.. an amusing irony since millions of UK born UK citizens who had lived abroad prior to 2016 were prevented from voting in the Referendum, despite a 2015 UK government manifesto commitment to remedy)

Back in October El Pais reported follows:
"Gibraltar admits there will be tax and customs deals with Spain after Brexit
A specific protocol on the British Overseas Territory is set to be added to the wider UK withdrawal agreement from the EU"

This was NOT mentioned in Article 184 in the Draft agreement announced last week. Sanchez has now simply reminded EU & UK that it needs to be, and a separate Bi-Lateral agreement will be required to allow Spain to support last weeks agreement. No big mystery/ conspiracy.

Not so difficult if you are properly briefed on the matter.

This news feature is a wonderful secondary source for serious traders.
But the news threads appear to be a wall on which any clown with an aerosol paint can can deface with ill informed views, can express their angst.
Conflicting views and analysis are useful and essential, but FFS let them please be informed.

Huzzah !! Remember Nelson and Trafalgar... On,on

Oooops , forgot we have the sullen old mountain goat in charge, sorry, take all that back, do you think we should give Spain Gib, Mr Carney does, he thinks we should cower under our beds and remain there, scared and fearful .....

Nope , sorry , not having it, fire the old goat, fire chicken legs and tell Spain to naff off, funnily enough, if Spain do vote this down , we could end up £39 Bn richer, Gib intact and Goatless

As the saying goes 'The devil is in the details'. Squaring the circle it is not though. What would be unconscionable would be that a small percentage of representatives would hold the government in a neck lock over the current draft agreement - sure they have a point to make, but if its seen as precipitating no deal at all - then there could be legal ramifications raised on them individually. There comes a point when 'National Interest' takes precedence as a union over subsidiary nation states. This by the way is a mirror of the relationship between the UK as a whole to the EU. The irony of it.

if everyone think "true", all their position gonna win. so who's lost?
in fact, they're don't.
there's always a time when even you're true af, the market goes the other way.

then what's the absolute definition of "true" on the market? none. it all just a zero sum game.

so.. i don't bother being false as long as my account grow. that's my own definition of true.

and who's right on the market? you? 😂😂
like i said bones, i don't care with your definition of true, i don't mind being false, as long as i go along with the market. that's true enough for me.

it's so funny watching many ppl tryin to explain this n that, pointing other's mistake and busy correcting them. sinking on their own illusion, while other's may never care about what they're talking.

last month was online"long"addict, and now you bones. seriously, get a life dude..
