I suppose now the Fed has abandoned it's strategy of allowing inflation to run equal amounts above or below 2%. It seems that Powell want's to now set 2% as a hard target and not overrun it. Powell may have the ability to crush the expansion, but I don't believe he has the ability to control inflation to a specific target plus or minus 0. If he really want's to average 2%, he should target 2% +/- 0.5%. Even that might be to tight a range to maintain, but it's better than devastating an expansion with unrealistic expectations of fine tuning that he just is not capable of.
