Yeah. Here is my rule of thumb that never fails. For every 1 person that brags about catching a surprise news spike in the market there are 100 others that blew their accounts and are silent drinking liquor to nurse their bruised egos and self esteem.

Yep. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why there were no "small guy" winners in the Swiss Bank crash of Jan '15. We heard all about the losers, literally going FAR beyond just blowing their accounts, literally going WAY into debt. But it was obvious there also must have been at least SOME winners... even if it was just pure luck they were on the right side of that move. And then it dawned on me why we weren't hearing from them: They were probably too smart to open their mouths. They knew that with all the misery on the other side, the LAST thing the now-bankrupt people wanted to hear was about a "winner".
