Having experience intellectual property theft by one of our “financial neighbours” with no protection with international law, and then subsequent theft of some of my client base, I lean much in President Trumps mindset and understand his actions as with tariffs.
I am partially emotional, but very mindful and disciplined of what is the “bigger picture” or “greater good” senecios so often sprouted by politicians when such trade disparages arise. When tarries or taxes, pure theft of values of intellectual knowledge, improved efficiencies or manipulation of the value of any good needs to be addressed.

The USA is the engine room of the world economies by far!
Though not completely innocent of fault, the USA houses the open portal of equity, trade and commerce that has benfited the world since world war 2, particularly the G6 that accompany the summit.

The USA and its like minded trading partners have been abused little by little to a point that such a person as Pres Trunp has been voted to office.

No other leader has the position to speak up and take action with these inequities.

Now he has the task to confront a “leader” and his nuclear weapons..... who is supporting him?

Revenge.. If someone hurts you (trade tarrifs hurts trade), without reason, because the EURO-USA relationships were good before Trump, then you have two choices: revenge but then you're at the same level of them or not revenge and just leave USA to look themselves at the mirror. I hope Euro/China won't apply any tarrifs to USA and just build better channel to make business with better leaders. Europe should say: I proudly leave the USA debt-driven trade to others and I make business with new partners.

Germany will be the biggest loser in a trade war.

I hope Canada doesn't retaliate with its own tariffs on US goods, I'm tired of everything costing more and more. Let the US apply their tariffs, it's the American people that have to pay them when they purchase those imported products. Prices go up maybe we don't sell as much to the US. Time to look for better markets.

The Euro/Chinese connection is strengthening without people noticing! There is a "goods" rail connection from China through Russia down to Austria! While DJT is busy breaking bridges, Xi is busy constructing some .....

He's just trying to get the money back he gave in tax cuts to all his rich friends somehow and he thinks other countries will pay for it thru these tariffs. This is a desperate move from Trump because he knows at one point Americans will have to pay the 2 trillion dollar loan they took to cover these tax cuts. With interest!
It's so funny because this is no different than a trader that trades with too much leverage.
