  • Record AU labour force participation continues

    The trend participation rate increased to a further record high of 65.7 per cent in April 2018, according to the latest figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today. "The labour force participation rate was the highest it has been since the series began in 1978, indicating increasing attachment to the labour force," the Chief Economist for the ABS, Bruce Hockman, said. In line with the increasing participation rate, employment increased by around 14,000 with part-time employment increasing by 8,000 persons and full-time employment by 6,000 persons in April 2018. Market dissapointed with Australia's Unemployment Rate now increase to 5,6% vs previous at 5,5%...
So, it's bad news for RBA to make hikes this year...
Because unemployment rate increase again from 5,4% at Jan 18, 2018...

So, Australia economy will not reach the inflation target at 2%.

The AUDUSD has now rallied twice off bad macro data in the last two days. Usually a bullish sign when bad news cant push prices lower. Perhaps a push now to at least 0.7650 before a turning lower?

paticipation went up, unemployment is only calculated off job seekers not the total population, so if more people start looking for work unemployment goes up if the increase in participation is higher then the increase in jobs.

Simple, it is a survey of random participants, they have probably increased the number of participants in an attempt to increase the figures, but, oops! Maybe next time they will decrease the number of survey participants. Cherry picking as usual.
Seasonally adjusted so who knows.

It's precisely 0.7650 that I'm also watching. FIB 61.8% retracement.
But I thing it's not going straight, but in waves for the next 2 week and then will go down straight to 0.7222-0.7176 zone in more 1.5-2 weeks and then an AUD buy signal an possibly we'll see AUD really disturbing the market coming back to 0.78-0.79 zone.
Let's see. So far so good.
