Euro area annual inflation down to 1.2%
Euro area annual inflation is expected to be 1.2% in April 2018, down from 1.3% in March 2018, according to a flash estimate from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, energy (2.5%, compared with 2.0% in March) and food, alcohol & tobacco (2.5%, compared with 2.1% in March) are expected to have the highest annual rate in April, followed by services (1.0%, compared with 1.5% in March) and non-energy industrial goods (0.3%, compared with 0.2% in March)
