UK House Price Index summary: February 2018
UK house prices grew by 4.4% in the year to February 2018, down from 4.7% in the year to January 2018. Looking at the demand for housing, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ (RICS) UK Residential Market Survey for February 2018 reported their new buyer enquiries series fell for the 11th consecutive month, with a net balance of -16% of respondents reporting a fall in demand. Responders reported a lack of stock in the second-hand market, limiting choice and depressing demand.
