The $ is toast and has been for over 13 months. It is no use speaking about it as if it has some hidden kick or something so special about it that no one knows about. If we are going to have some sustained move up by the $ it will come in the future of which no one can tell near-term or not. But there is nothing to keep the $ moving higher that anyone knows about right-now so would be a surprise frankly regardless of the fact that some correction to risk (which has been flogging the $ silly for over 13 months now without letup) is due for some correction....

The USD has been stalled on bonds and debt funding, look at swaps for the raw facts.

Going long on JPY and Euro must now be expensive with a drain as swap costs take effect with the too and fro of these pairs gripped in a stalemate. Something I have experienced.

This has also become the focus of some analysts as the time taken before the easing of QE programs and introduction of positive interest rates has become a serious problem due to difficulty in managing low inflation and stimulus ...... liquidity has been reduced with funds directed on fiscal policy.

The USD has suffered from a lack of volatility and shunned after large preemptive buyers awaiting interest rate decisions that have wavered and resulted in an instant backlash from over speculation and possible "game playing".
Hinted on at a higher level by both the US powers and the respective leaders that have an interest in a counter point to President Trump.

The S&P500 is a good example. So much equity bundled into one corner and no painless way out? Is it buckling or is it stabilizing? The VIX is in motion again.....The US is gaining energy in its workforce, interest rates rising. 65% of the world liquidity in the USD.

But that is not necessarily stated as a law of nature or indeed anything else known in nature.
