I watched a couple documentary type things simulating what would happen if NK tried going to war with the U.S. lol..both scenarios played out with NK being devastated within 2 days. the only thing that is NOT funny about this is how many innocent NK people that silently denounce Kim could suffer casualties as a result of his...aholeness.

There is no chance for North Korea to win outright, but what I THINK they are saying is like "If we go down, we are taking you with us."Kind of like a kamikazee, so if they don't have anything to lose for the sake of war, then they could critically damage unsuspecting parts of the US. They might also have a bio-weapon.

I am getting the impression that many do not understand the serious implications of a war between the US and NK. Whose military might is able to devastate whose is not the point. It is important to remember that no one wins in war. The republicans are the war party, and this sort of rhetoric plays to their base. People tend to have short memories. You went into Iraq, spent billions of dollars on that war, and billions more on going to deal with the power vacuums left in the Middle East as a result of the uprisings that followed after Saddam. People have also forgotten Vietnam. There will be suffering on both sides

Did the documentary mention anything about the possibility that NK might receive help from China and/or Russia? If they receive military assistance, it might change things...

The US has NOT declared war on NK. It is NK who are looking for an excuse to start shooting.
Where is all this going? NK wants a nuclear capability equivalent to the US. Well that will not happen any time soon. However, let's assume that they have a limited nuclear capability. Where do they go from there? Will they then threaten the US and the rest of the world with nuclear bombs should continued sanctions not be lifted? They don't seem to have any where else to go but to threaten nuclear war on the US and the rest of the world. The US has for a long time had a superior nuclear capability but they haven't gone around threatening everyone else with it. This is a very dangerous position taken by NK. If they intend to drop a hydrogen bomb into the pacific ocean and it goes astray and hits somewhere else killing innocent people what will the US reaction to that be? Millions of lives could be lost in a very short space of time Kim Jon-ung should really think very carefully and cancel this very, very dangerous plan.

JPY is often used as a safe haven currency during volatile events, i.e. war, disaster, etc. As soon as the event is over then expect the preceding sentiment to return. There's a few articles I've found about "JPY safe haven currency" that might shed some light.

NK rhetoric as a prelude to something - not just a lone missile either, maybe a multiple missile launch (over Guam?) or the promised H bomb test in the Pacific?? Either way two lunatics with their fingers on the button!!!

Any market movement that doesn't make sense to you, it's because the big boys are making trades against rational sense, you know, to trip all those stops - easy pickings for them. They don't do it all the time, though.

Sometimes it's not the big boys but a collective closing of positions by all sorts of traders, pushing the price in the opposite direction than was expected.

What everyone forgets is that the United States and the UN are STILL formally at war with N. Korea. The current line between N. and S. Korea is a truce line which the parties agreed to back in the 50s when neither side wanted to continue the war. The war has never formally been renounced as far as I know.

In the intervening years, N. Korea has made several provocations in and around the truce line, including hacking to death a U.S. soldier on duty at the Truce Building where representatives meet (or met) and construction of tunnels underneath the truce zone which were discovered to be large enough to send divisions of tanks and soldiers through the zone, undetected, in a surprise attack. The tunnels were closed down on the S. Korean side.

This farce has been going on so long that most people have forgotten the Korean War and its aftermath including the Truce.

The only problem I have with Japan Yen as a safe haven in this matter is that Japan, and of course, Seoul, could be a first target of Rocket Man if he goes batshit crazy. Either way, Japan is in the line of fire and that's why Abe was so supportive of Trump in their meeting the other day.

The US has for a...

Whose military might is able to devastate whose is not the point. It is important to remember that no one wins in war.

You might want to check out a few facts concerning WWI and WWII and who paid the bill to rebuild the world.

Wow! It's interesting how a whole people can be brainwashed into worshipping a family dynasty. Alas! in some countries nothing has changed in a thousand years! Well....change is imminent. Korea should be one country anyway. The end is near for North Korea and it will be good riddance to another Godforsaken dictatorship. In the modern world human rights must be protected and dictatorships rejected. The dark ages are over.
In the end, the best course of action may be to surgically remove the dictator and his military cronies. It is criminally dangerous to allow a rogue nation to gestate and give birth to deadly nuclear weapons.
The end result will be a strengthening of the dollar. War involves a lot of deals!

North Koreans still have vivid memory at least one of every North Koreans were among 9 million killed by US bombs in Korean war.
Ignored

What does this mean? The word at least means there is a possibility of more, so in some cases 2 or more of every North Koreans were killed by US bombs?

I guess there would have to be multiples of the same North Korean in order to get YOUR 9 million killed by US bombs.

After doing 5 minutes of research I see that Military deaths for the Korean War is estimated around 1.2-1.5 million people total for the entire war. I was only able to find one source with civilian causalities which are estimated 1.6 million total for North and South Korea.

Exactly where did you pull 9 million killed by US bombs, when only 3.1 million military and civilians died in the entire war total?
