    EUR/USDwas not convinced by Draghi's complaints about the exchange rate and reached new highs. Can it continue even higher? For ones you might be right, but EUR/USD has hit a strong resistance and if it penetrates upwards it will range in a strong S/R area of about 150 pips between 1.2030 and 1.2180 until strong fundamentals take it out of this range.

If it fails to penetrate upwards then we head down to 1.180x

He has been right for like 9 weeks in a row and I agree with him. What you say is a tautology, of course in an uptrend you take out different resistance zones one after one and every time there is a rejection risk but if you trade it then you want to stick to the trend

Well he may have been right. I must admit I haven't been following his work for a while, as he has made too many mistakes. And please note I said he may be right this time.
Yes mate the trend is your friend and I am short on UJ so I hope he is right. I just think it begins to be quite risky to long EU forever. There are many signals from many sides that the picture may change pretty quick now...

Well from the last ECB interview SUPER MARIO and his members have serious concern about the Euro strength. This will definitely reflect on the minutes. Last Friday the data from the Germany as well as France and Spain was a huge disappointment. This caused the pullback of the usd. To this to continue there is huge demand for the strong data from the us and from Fed.

On Technicals, there is a uptrend upto 1.22200 and it will require high impactful data from the euro to continue upside. If the fed did give any good details about the inflation and expected inflation to go up after 2 hurricanes. This will put the dollar in command as euro striving for the inflation.

Once it hit the 1.21 the next stop is 1.22200. On the other hand data and the draghi suggests pull back to continue probably upto 1.18.

On datawise there's no big data that would drive euro very high but a geopolitical event might.

Nowadays I'm above arguing etc.
Just to say there are things as corrections and double top etc....which Yohay never heard of.

I'm a bit short and would wait Mon/Tue gor bunch of red bars to add.

Draghi can try to hurt the euro or not, but the economies of the currency bloc are doing well, and so is the euro. The US has a more hesitant central bank....... bla

Could be a dull week except that if you look at assets in class you see things as a bit unsettled. It is not a stall but it feels like one so could be a build up for further highs in the class. So for the Euro and class (ignoring the recent crap about safe havens) there is a good chance past behaviour will persist now. A very good chance. But if you see a very fast reverse sequence then I am wrong. I am mistimed. But I would not bet on me being wrong. Not a good habit.

Sorry I just saw one at Gold Open - a fast reverse sequence and it did not look like a headfake at least intraday. I would of course become more reserved about the upside and wait to measure intent by speed of recovery. It is a complex game. But we follow price and that is all we need to do. Follow price well not predict it.

Well, As i mentioned in my previous comment that dollar is on a bullish upto 1.18. These pullback is very significant. Tomorrow a higher US CPI will drag euro further down.


Euro area inflation not picking up and it has been revised again. The recent economic data from euro are very disappointing. ECB and Draghi expected this euro surge only after the tapering. These things put EURO on a NEUTRAL position by the big investors.

In the mean time hurricanes and other factors in the will put US in a higher inflation on the first quarter of '18. This will put the Fed for more hikes. Tax reform and infrastructure spending will make dollar stronger. This pullback wont go beyond 1.16 by any means. We should be very cautious when euro trades below 1.17. Be patience on below 1.17 - 1.16

Dont forget big boys waiting for the dip to buy the euro again.

Haha yeah he rocks. Good to have him here anyway, as we can have an idea where the market goes.
Praet wants to hurt the EUR, bud did he? I guess he expects the US dollar to lose next week and this is an attempt to preserve the current balance.

The truth is I really don't know what to expect from the FED next week
