Weidmann urges ECB buyers to make a quick exit - interview with the Federal President
Federal Reserve Chairman Jens Weidmann does not see any monetary policy need for an extension of the controversial ECB loan purchase program beyond the current end date of December 2017, given the current inflation outlook. At the same time, he spoke out in the interview of the Börsen-Zeitung against an abrupt end of the securities purchases, in order to avoid turmoil in the markets. He argued, however, at least for a quick exit.
