  • How long will USD and GBP defy fundamentals?

    From bkassetmanagement.com

There was very little consistency in the performance of the U.S. dollar this past week with the greenback trading lower versus the Japanese Yen, steady against all of the other major currencies except for sterling. On a percentage basis, the changes were small but given how far the dollar had rallied at the start of the week, the pullback was significant. USD/JPY ran as high as 114.95, just a few pips shy of 115 before ending the week below 113. The most phenomenal part of the move was that it was counter to data and Fed speak. Nearly all of this past week’s most important U.S. economic reports beat expectations ... (full story)

Market makers don't buy at the top like retail traders. Looking at a hour chart of the dollar Yen I see lower lows and lower highs. Look where smart money is buying.

The analyst in this article keeps on saying that the usd is not alligned with it "fundamentals" and puts 0 effort to explain why. I see a lot of bandwagons in this forum also spamming the very same without giving any good reasoning.

If you've been trading for awhile you'll totally relate to the content of the post. In summary what the post is stating is, fundamentals of major economies aren't translated in price movement. The article is absolutely self explanatory. Rather than discredit such knowledgeable post ,I think you need to expand your understanding of currency trading environment.

My advice thou would be to have a technical analysis that's immune of fundamentals because sometimes fundamentals complicates issues for traders. For me the market calendar are just a reminder of volatility and caution I don't use is to decide my entries, the price chart says it all.

I see it's you not understanding. Above post eh??
If she can "explain USD" then it would be "aligned ".....
Learn to spell !!!  😢

And I imagine, you know nothing about random noise, Trumpisms, profit taking, skewed markets, spikes, stop hunt......
Do you need a magic picture to explain what's "not aligned ??

Oh yes - ignored too

The market is ruled by two things fear and greed and thats what support and resistance levels are all about, sometimes what you think is smart money buying is just traders closing their positions out of fear of support and resistance levels.
