"Reports suggest." The writer warned you from the beginning that this was a story woven from NOTHING.

Your answer is right on the button. It can be extended to include the possibility of closing borders. If the US is going to continue to buy loads of stuff then a strong dollar is preferred. If all manufacturing ( ha-ha ) will be performed within the US then the relative US$ value is irrelevant. However if the US is determined to try to sell stuff abroad then, depending upon what is being sold, a strong dollar will be a hindrance.

The msm is pretty desperate when it relies on hear say fake news to motivate their followers. Reports suggest sounds more like the voices in some ones head told them one to tell this story to a msm fake news source who in turn used the words reportedly to make it sound more credible than saying we know this story is fake but we are running it any ways since we can't win on facts when it comes to Donald Trump, so we will try fantasy and see how that works.

The only economic problem that Donald Trump is working on is how to undo the damage done by his globalist predecessor and Make America Great Again.

Is a Strong or Weak Dollar Good for the US? A better economy is better for the US. The strong/weak dollar question is irrelevant.
