  • A woman in London has placed a £100,000 bet on Britain staying in the EU

    From businessinsider.com

A London woman has placed a £100,000 bet on Britain voting to remain in the European Union in the June 23 referendum. The unnamed William Hill client — who according to the bookmakers lives in central London — stands to win a total return of £140,000 after backing Britain to stay in the 28-nation bloc at odds of 2/5. Incredibly, it's the first bet the female client has ever placed, according to William Hill's Graham Sharpe who spoke to Business Insider on Monday. Sharpe told BI in an email: "It was her first, and, so far, only bet she told me when I spoke to her on Saturday." He added: "This is the biggest ... (full story)

It is an open secret that Britain will vote to stay in the EU. Just like Scotland voting to stay in UK, etc.

If she were getting some odds of 3 or 4-1, maybe...but there are other better bets. Likely, she will win though as the fix is in. The powers that be cannot afford for Britain to exit as their New World Order plans could experience a fatal setback.

agreed

We know why we should leave! to regain control of our own country, trade with who we want, make our own laws.

But we are not told why all the world says we should stay, just loads of bs from the supposed biggest and best, aimed at the sheep? purely speculation, every household will lose £4k a year, house prices will drop(good thing)

Main reason interest rates will rise above 2% (our politicians target i believe) and therefore our country goes bankrupt unable to pay the interest on our national debt.

So our own government is selling us out!!

Government can never help their countries (the powers that be simply will not have it).
The thought of people being prosperous and powerful is too much for these power mad illuminates .

Unless our leaders get serious and put fear and self interest below the interests of people.

In which case they get vilified as dictatorship and the whole country get screwed for Dearing to pursue freedom.

Democracy is just a cover to pacify the people.

Preventing them from rioting and taking what's theirs by force.

I hope Bayer bring down the curtains on this Monsanto crap company before they kill off half the population of the planet.

To be fair, it is not a bad risk reward. So much as I am in on the LEAVE side. I don't think it will happen. There is too much of a younger population who will not believe that leaving will do us any good so we will stay because we will be outvoted by older and a vast amount of younger generation people who favor REMAIN side. So far I haven't seen any young people who favor LEAVE.

And if all else fails, I am cynical to think it would be rigged to have a REMAIN result should we win in a LEAVE majority.

Furthermore, I think it is William Hill that is stupid to support this bet. You may as well say "Please, take my money now!"

If you can't see that the "IN" politicians try to rule people with fear buy claiming that some event will adversely affect their lives when we vote OUT e.g. house prices will fall, we will not be able to trade because of trade barriers, unemployment will increase, we will not be competitive. All fear tactics. You cannot live your life ruled by fear, you must be brave and take on lifes' new challenges. The British Public will see through these fear tactics on Polling Day. Trade with this Great British Country will still continue when we vote to leave. European car manufactures, food producers, electrical goods and other consumer goods will still enter our ports. Trade is not going to stop!

Formerly European Economic Community (EEC) and then the Common Market, and mission creep has changed the name to European Union (EU), when did that happen and for what reason. Norway is not in the EU and Norway is one of the wealthiest economies in the world.

Norway pay through the nose for the privilege to trade with the EU.

The only reason Switzerland didn't join was because they knew the EU would never sign up to their banking secrecy nonsense which is the major backbone of their economy.

Same story with Norway, they have literally a money tap in oil money with a tiny population so they don't need to. Otherwise they would have joined long ago.

The UK is not Switzerland or Norway....not even close.

BTW Switzerland and Norway both accept more EU migrants per capita than the UK. In fact, many more. As it turns out, the Swiss model doesn’t involve full control of its own borders and, if you extrapolate it to the UK, it would mean the UK accepting roughly 390,000 more "scary" EU migrants net per year.

Barkie, you can't seem to grasp why the Brexit came about. I think this will be a close run thing, the people I work with are roughly 50% no vote, near enough split either way then, announcing there would be roughly 800k job losses and throwing into the equation just over 3 million non resident EU members mainly renting then gives food for thought.....

Once again, the people has the chance to do it right thing (Exit and become a better country), but they got scared by the leftist media.

Same happened hear in US, in my state: the people had the chance to lower sales taxes by vote, but the media scared the shit out of everybody...

Low/no information voters are easily manipulated by the leftist media.

How's life there in the UK?: are you all converted to Islam yet? If not, just keep taking more "refugees" (Invaders in my opinion) and in less than 10 years it will be imposed upon all of you...

Because the EU determines the "quota" of how many migrants each member will have to accept.

Take a look a Poland, Hungary: they're fighting the EU and are not taking any of them...

The UK has opted out of the EU quota system and could opt out of any new migration quotas agreed by other EU nations. So if they take any immigrants from outside the EU then that's their own decision.

LOL, I'm actually a big Brexit supporter because it's obvious that a Bremain would lead to a "neverendum" and this Brexit nonsense would continue for years and may be even decades which is obviously not in the interest of any EU citizen. I'm just pointing out the ridiculous arguments the Brexiteers use to justify a Brexit. Do it because you hate the EU which is the only sensible reason.

Barkie is correct, we do not at this point have to take any non EU migrants as part of the great EU migrant distribution. However, because of the EU's human rights laws, the UK cannot get rid of any illegal immigrants, even if they are criminal, murderers, rapists or drug dealers. The good old EU CHR thinks that these types of people should be protected against being sent back to their country of origin where they might be sent to a prison where there are no "in cell" amenities such as toilets, TV etc. The EU believes, bugger the rights and feelings of the citizens and voters, the poor criminal should have more rights

The same scare mongering you're seeing on the exit is the same in the US against Trump. And what is the best the media can do? Rehash a story on how Trump played a PR guy to sell himself? He claims it's not him, and who cares? Even if it is really him it's hilarious! Certainly not a scandal. Meanwhile, there are mountains of scandals surrounding Clinton, and Sanders is mopping up. That should tell you something about the allegiances of media. They are certainly not there to serve your interests.

Feb 2016, The ECJ’s chief legal adviser dealt a blow to Theresa May when he said non-EU offenders who are the sole carers for children with UK nationality could not be booted out ‘simply’ because they have committed a crime.

More recently. EU rules are forcing Britain to disclose top secret intelligence to terror suspects – or let them walk into the UK unhindered. The edict concerns cases where the Home Secretary wants to ban a suspected terrorist or extremist with an EU passport from entering the UK. The ECJ, the official court of the EU, said that if a member state wanted to restrict a citizen's right of free movement, it must explain exactly why - even where to do so would endanger national security.

IMHO, Brexit is guaranteed. Britain has always been cautious about the EU. Does the GBP not exist? Cameron is "negotiation" to regain sovereignty? A simple vote makes him irrelevant. Problem solved. I'd put my money on the exit.

Referendums in my lifetime...

Quebec to Separate from Canada: LOSE
Scotland to Separate from UK: LOSE
UK to Separate from EU: Prediction LOSE

...and believe me. I am a LEAVE supporter but am not thinking we are going to win.

Throw a dice Keydcuk and take a moment and watch this documentary:

Enjoy and if you liked it there is some good reading on Bell's Inequality.
Things are not always as they appear, Quebec lost referendum, but then they won the day.
Cheers.

My God man! That's their agenda - kill of half and more of the planet's humans.

Do you think a German company wouldn't be involved in that? Hehehe!

Why would you ever want to let someone with terrorist links (even though they may have not committed a crime) into you country and why would the security services have to explain themselves and provide intelligence evidence to someone wholly unconnected to the UK??

UK law? as far as I understand it you can't arrest someone if it hasn't committed a crime, if having terrorist links is a crime then arrest him, if not you can't arrest him.

one should be careful in labelling anyone a "terrorist". in some instances terrorists have gone on to become the legitimate governments of countries. what happens to legitimate national military operatives who later become ruled by the same terrorists they were fighting against?

Why would you want to arrest them? Whatever country they came from can deal with that issue and cost. All you want to do is prevent them coming into the country in the first place. Surely it should be our right to bar entry to any unsavory characters whom our security services feel might be a threat. We shouldn't have to explain ourselves in any great detail.

But what about the Britons who emigrate abroad and make use of the public services in their adopted nations. I guess we just gona call them expats because emigrant is to much of a dirty word.

A woman in London has placed a £100,000 bet on Britain staying in the EU. Obviously not a case of insider dealing! : )
Don't wait for the wind, take to the oars.
