Has the 'Bitcoin experiment' failed?

Mike Hearn, the developer referred to in the article, has made himself a pain to work with for several years and (as reported above) continues doing what he does best: agitating arguments, fomenting division, and constantly nagging instead of coding alongside fellow open source contributors.

The computer scientists and PhDs in the Bitcoin Core development team expect research papers and objective proof of concepts before committing them to code. But Mike Hearn, expecting to rule the team by seniority, consistently failed to provide any science to support his implementation demands.

Bitcoin is a programmable money. Yet, anyone familiar with Hearn's rhetoric will recall his favorite Bitcoin use-case was to buy coffee from Starbucks "on-the-go". What a laughably unproductive use of the resource-heavy blockchain!

This was, of course, the crux of the matter: Hearn is a (mediocre) developer and has for years demonstrated poor understanding of economics and monetary theory. No wonder, then, that his vision for Bitcoin did not match the consensus amongst core developers and the majority of users.

In the end Hearn alienated himself, through incessant argumentation and emotional outbursts, and now turns around, full of sour grapes, to slander and discredit his former colleagues, and attempts to tear down Bitcoin. What a shameful way to go...

Hearn goes. Bitcoin stays.

Timings not odd though as the Stock market is crumbling , bonds are shaky and Real estate is headed to the trash, the PTB can control Gold and Silver but not Bitcoin , maybe this is how they rig the market

The longest running chain blockchain design that Satoshi innovated is still the best blockchain design out there, thus bitcoin is still the best cryptocurrency design there is with the strongest developer prowess. Mathematically LRC is the only cryptographically deterministic system there is that is efficient in proving that work you do is yours and worth x amount.

This is just a fud attempt by hearn to brign price down that's all. Innovation in the sector will relieve any of the faults he brings up.

It's true.

BTC is not decentralized, not anonymous, has dysfunctional leadership and has failed to grow mainstream acceptance because it's a pain-in-the-ass to use.

On the other hand, it still has a 90% share of the cryptocurrency market... and a die hard Cult that will never give up. Never bet against the tape... and never bet against a Cult.

It's amazing that, out of about 500 coin competitors, a better designed cryptocurrency has never gained more than a few percent market share.

This is what I mean by Zombie Cult. Hearn posts a sophisticated, honest post that explains 2 doomsday issues with BTC: (a) > 51% controlled by 2 cartels in China and (b) inabililty to change 1 MB block size that Satoshi pulled out his ass 7 years ago.

And the next zillion posts the Bitcoin Zombies attack!!!

Everything about Bitcoin is outdated if you even casually follow developments in the Alt Coin and Gen 2.0 Platform spaces. Seven years is an eternity at the bleeding edge of tech.

I've probably installed at least 50 alt coin wallets and done 20,000 alt coin trades... and Bitcoin is pretty much my least favorite coin to use. The real mystery is why a far superior coin has not blown by BTC. Frankly, other than the ETH ecosystem... I can't even name a serious BTC competitor.

I am not that much into the digital currencies. I think, unless the government sees as beneficial to have one common denomination across the world, it might fail.
