  • Strong dollar could send oil to $20

    That's the view of analysts at Morgan Stanley. In a report published Monday, they say a 5% increase in the value of the dollar against a basket of currencies could push oil down by between 10% and 25% -- which would mean prices falling by as much as $8 per barrel. Crude oil prices are already trading at around $31, near their lowest levels in 12 years. Prices tumbled over 6% on Monday, and are 16% down so far this year. Oil has dropped more than 65% since a peak 18 months ago. Analysts have attributed the slump to a global supply glut brought about by slowing demand and high production. ut the report by Morgan ... Morgan Stanley does not produce oil so this is pure speculation to drive the price lower so they can buy......ffs !!!

Like OPEC deciding to cut production in emergency meeting

DEC holiday job numbers were obviously inflated due to retail part time workers but come Jan 2016 US economy may not be as golden as it is being sold on US public.
Numbers will start getting reder as more jobs are being cut in energy sector exports and manufacturing.
Get your overall plan ready becuse there are lots of bargains to buy soon.
Same idiots were calling Cable 200 when it was 1.72 so there will be always "sky is falling idiots out there"

price does not drop that way. from $31 to $8 that is about 75% drop. Who will ever produce oil any more if it is at $8 per barrel?

A bit off topic, but it would be nice if the oil refineries in Australia started to stop gouging motorists. Australia still pays between $1.15 AUD and $1.40 AUD per litre (depending on which day of the week it is)

I can remember when oil were $145 and we were paying no more than $1 per litre .

Someone is making shit loads.

The article talks about an $8/barrel drop in price.
I simply did the math.
Current price $31 - $8 is $23

From a simple risk/reward perspective oil can only drop $30 more dollars and then its worth "$0". Of course this will never happen, oil is not worth $0. Upside potential? Well just look at history and how high the price has gone. Anyone with half a brain is buying oil here not shorting it. If squeezing blood out of a stone is your idea of trading then by all means continue shorting the hell out of oil. Buy low and sell high and when you start seeing all these calls going out of "$20 oil! $10 oil!" you know the bottoms getting close. Just look back and remember all of the analyst shouting "oil to $150+!!" look how that turned out . Be the contrarian.

Buying Oil because it looks cheap is what the market is currently doing now.
That is why the storage tanks are nearly at full capacity. When that happens then it really tanks excuse the pun.
But some feel the world economy is booming and can suck up supply. Really?
