China’s Most Successful Business Leaders Are Not Safe At Home

Quite an intelligent and well written article.

I am well known as being opposed to the moron class of trolls here in FF, who knock China without any foundation or fact; who have never been to China and yet have such strong, racially prejudiced opinions about China and the Chinese.

I've loved my 9 years of living here in China; and it is a truly remarkable country filled with interesting people, culture and excitement. A communist country in name only; because in fact China is a Capitalist country with vastly superior business and Capitalist skills than the USA, UK and Australia etc.

All of that said, China does have its problems too. The ubber wealthy in China do have reasons for concern.

Not the least being that most of that ubber wealth did come from ill-gotten gains brought about by political connections, and that over time political winds can and do change.

And if it is not a political wind change that will get you; then an old fashioned kidnapping just might.

And people world over are basically looking for the same thing, peace to live their lives. Only their greedy (and sometimes evil) Leaders hold them back. Are u south English?

That's easy to say when they're printing trillions and trillions of Yuan over the course of two decades.

This is, at best, naively xenophobic... at worst a racist statement, which reflects the Chinese view of the world.

Interesting people, culture and excitement. Very true for this decade. How will it change? Don't know, hopefully not, that means commie will be in power for a long time. It can be a good thing if you just enjoy your life. Meaning, change will be slow.

Business and Capitalist Skill. This means change is coming, but it will be slow.

Assessment. Change will be slow. Don't hope for another boom. Just live everyday life, and it will be ok.

BTW, Chinese writing is hard to learn.

Democracy is a good thing if ppl make the right choice. Who will be the next US president? Will they be H.C. or D.T.? If one of them is the next US president, will there be compromise among Democrats and Republics? What if there will be no compromise?

Ppl usually don't have the same information. That means their choice is based on partial or little information.

Most ppl don't care about who the next president will be, and many won't cast their votes.

All said, I still prefer democracy than any other systems.

One main failing of democracy is that by definition, 50% of the population are of below intelligence.

The main problem with it however is that it is the way systemic corruption is built into the system, because the only law ever getting passed is that law which was written by the strongest lobby groups and special interests groups who fund them.

Democracy has NEVER been about "by the people, for the people". It has ALWAYS been about serving vested interests.

That said, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is in fact a democracy.

Only 6% of the population are a member of the CCP; a choice to NOT join it made by the other 94% of people. The greatest majority of Chinese don't give a shit about Govt, politics etc. They only care about their very local issues, and a happy family life.

EVERY position within the CCP, from the lowest to the highest are democratically elected by the CCP. And the same power structures and vested interests do get served by the CCP's system of democracy, just as the western democracies are too.

Certainly the professionalism and caliber of politician in China is significantly higher than the crap served up to the USA public in the form of Trump, and the rest of that motley crew.

You know this dancingphil guy is growing on me. his POST just above mine is spot on. America is not, was not, and never will be a true democracy. Even our Founding Fathers didnt trust it's own population to make an intelligent vote. Still dont!
