Canada Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, October 2015
Manufacturing sales declined 1.1% to $50.4 billion in October, the third consecutive decrease. Declines in the petroleum and coal product, aerospace product and parts, and machinery industries were responsible for the overall drop. In constant dollar terms, sales were down 1.0%, indicating that lower volumes of manufactured goods were sold. Sales were down 5.7% to $4.5 billion in the petroleum and coal product industry, the fifth consecutive decline. The decrease in October reflected lower production of refined products.
