At the Monetary Policy Meeting held today, the Policy Board of the Bank of Japan decided, by an 8-1 majority vote, to set the following guideline for money market operations for the intermeeting period: The Bank of Japan will conduct money market operations so that the monetary base will increase at an annual pace of about 80 trillion yen. 2. Not sure I understand THe BOJ is announcing that it is going to print a lot more money to prop up the ecconomy and get it going again Good for Stock market bonds etc etc but my understanding as with the USA and EUR the printing of money weakened the currency being printed

??????? In this case you are saying the Yen will get stronger which it just did big time

lol everyone thinking the markets make sense anymore. Bad news is Good news down means up and up means down. Just keep the money presses printing and we'll all be alright....HAHA

News moves prices at random. If any fundamental would effect prices, it takes days or even weeks. Fundamentals are for investors, not for day traders, pip scalpers or so.

It just means that there will be more demand for JPY denominated debt, and they'll be buying JPY bonds using JPYs, which in turn strengthens the Japanese Yen ( because its required to buy huge amounts of JPY Bonds)
Simplicity is the key to brilliance.
