  • Tsipras Given 72 Hours to Win EU’s Trust by Passing Bailout Laws

    From bloomberg.com

Finance ministers meeting in Brussels before a Sunday summit of euro-area leaders demanded Greece enact economic reforms before opening detailed negotiations on an aid package of at least 74 billion euros ($83 billion). If Tsipras misses that deadline, Greece faces being suspended from the currency union, Finnish Finance Minister Alexander Stubb said. “Greece is being given exactly two choices,” Stubb said. “It’s a rather black and white choice.” ... Well played, shorts. Looks like Greece isn't giving in, yet. I'll be holding onto my ass, today. Hopefully I can make a little on the 1H and 4H, this week.

Greece has totally surrendered. Expect choppy trading until an agreement is wrapped up then a big move up.

Passing laws and enforcing them are two different things.....if there is the amount of corruption reported and if the books are cooked than what good are the laws....on paper only...

The Germans are making plenty of money selling BMWs thanks to the low value of the Euro. They want to keep the Eurozone intact more than anyone. It's a done deal.

We sell much more than BMWs, even before the Euro dropped against the $ last year and will continue to do so, whether €:$ rises further

Built a decent position short EURAUD with TPs designed to be achieved on a decent gap 😳

My primary concern was something happening just before markets open. Guess we'll see. Not sure if parliment will approve these deep austerity measures.

Part of me believes Tsipras new this and wants everyone to see how "big and bad" the EU is. He may be stepping in front of the bus for a bigger objective.
When the facts change I change my mind, what do you do sir

So, there will probably be a conclusive 'ending' to this drama soon.

One school of thoughts think Grexit is 'bad' and EUR will be sold. The other school think Grexit is 'good' (for the longer term EU financial 'health') and hence EUR will be bought.

Yet other school trade EUR not on the basis of the possibility of Grexit but on uncertainty. Uncertainty = sell EUR. No uncertainty (either agreement or Grexit confirmed) = buy EUR.

I am of the last school. So I will support long EUR in view of the longer term prospective of EU growth.
