  • RBA Minutes of the Monetary Policy Meeting

    From rba.gov.au

Members noted that growth of Australia's major trading partners had continued at around its average pace in early 2015. Growth in China looked to have eased a little further and this was likely to have contributed to further declines in iron ore and coal prices. Globally, the fall in oil prices in the second half of 2014 had led to lower inflation and was expected to provide additional support to demand in Australia's trading partners. Monetary policies remained very accommodative. In China, the authorities had announced a target for GDP growth in 2015 of 7 per cent, ½ percentage point below the target for 2014. ... (full story)

sell aud? that's exactly what the RBA wants. the exchange rate around the pre gfc rate sub 70 cents. keeps the price of fuel up and the various tax revenues on fuel artificially high.

What about the AUDJPY as Abenomics is shite and the yen is a disaster waiting to happen -- what do you think this pair will eventually do?

Draw a trendline along the june 2012 bottom and the august 2013 bottom on the monthly and see this line broke in January this year and now caps this pair. You don't want to go long here.

Hi PA is King,

iumoren here:

All probabilities for 0.79000+ target on AUDUSD remain STRONG. There is turbulence, resistance, etc. (as you would encounter with any snake to be caught) but this target is a reality.

But anyone willing to sell Aussie can do: plenty of "buyers with patience" out there.

But you were just telling everyone is was going to be an "abrupt" move upwards. Now there is "turbulence, resistance"?

Let me ask you this...what kind of trader are you, a day trader, swing trader, position trader? I doubt you are a scalper.

Also, for the bulls out there...how long do they have to wait wait .7900 and .7960 that you are forecasting? Its been four days now...do they wait four more, a week, a month? Just trying to understand.

There are sharp price movements on the AUDUSD pair which not all traders can easily see, because the general expectation was/is a "SELL" trend. But latest CPI data have contributed a lot to recent upward trend, but people cannot easily see where the vector heads to....because they see only "SELL" trend.

My trading is fully automated with combination of "intelligent scalping*" with swing/position trading. Some of my AUDUSD LONG positions are 2+ weeks old.
* This means not trying to cheat market forces by taking small profits at volatility, but following natural market trend. (Please permit me not to elaborate more here, so that FF Admin won't consider me advertising anything.)

For "true" Aussie (AUDUSD) bulls patience is required this week to reach 0.79000+ target, although I never mentioned 0.79600 target. AUDUSD can go up as abruptly as GBPUSD did today; we just need to reach that stage of probability which is unpredictable.

There are high probabilities for Aussie to strengthen its bullish trend later today on the background of comparatively bad EUR, GBP and - possibly - bad US economic data.

I can see maybe another attempt at .7800 this week, but not .7960 and probably not .7900 this week. But I'll never say never in case there is some kind of surprise jolt/world event to rock the markets. But I wish you well in your quest.

Happy Trading!

You said you were a swing/position trader...I told you I was a day trader. Two completely different strategies! It's like trying to compare apples to oranges. You said you've been holding long positions for more than two weeks...in those two weeks I've made over 200pips going long and short. Continue doing whatever for you, I'll do what works for me and we'll all make pips.

Cheers!

Obviously, Aussie has started its journey to 0.79000+ target for AUDUSD.

We strive to make Pips in different ways.

But with my swing/position trading/intelligent scalping, I can confirm with all certainties that within last 4 weeks I made 696 Pips (average of 348 Pips/week) on AUDUSD LONG trades, with a total of 17 entries. I still have open BUY trades on the pair.

That's weird, last week, according to your own trade explorers trading ea system, your all time profit was over was 2,100pips. Now it shows 1,575 all time. So you lost 500 pips somewhere the past week of trading. Maybe lost on other pairs. Oh, and your system only shows 2 positive Aussie long trades currently but 6 losing long positions.

Aussie had a good attempt at .7900, but still didn't reach it for the second Friday in a row. Perhaps you'll get it next week with FOMC news.

Enjoy your weekend!

I'm not a greedy man, 100 pips a week is all I try to make for my needs. And again, I'm a day trader...so I'm not going to get thousands of pips. Also, I almost only trade Aussie exclusively...with an ADR of roughly 100, getting 30-50 pips is decent. So you can't really compare our trading methods.

normally a new high after a spike above will follow with a reversal and a low a reversal after a spike down making a new low if people would get of 1min 5 min 15min charts trying to make a million dollars in 15 mins does not work don't get me wrong I also scalp and make a few dollars on a small time , in and out trades , but 4hr day chart and weekly will give a trend ,
