  • Now it's the euro's turn to kick lower as it falls to 1.0930

    From forexlive.com

The moves seem to be coming in waves now. The euro may be getting a kick lower on the expiry of German bond futures and options about 20 minutes ago. If not got enough info on the expiry to make it a concrete connection but there's nothing else doing the rounds. EUR/JPY is also floundering again too As I mentioned in my prior euro post there's not a lot on the tech front under here so it could get bit wild. EUR/JPY faces strong support at 131.10/15

The European bond-buying frenzy is showing no signs of abating, suggesting that investors might soon pay for the privilege of lending money to those countries hardest hit by the recent eurozone crisis, and may even brace for the euro to sink to parity against the U.S. dollar.

The yields on bonds issued by one-time trouble spots including Spain, Italy, and bailout recipient Portugal struck record lows on Friday. Short-dated Irish bond yields are already fluctuating around 0% and Spanish two-year bonds are yielding just 0.08%. Low yields reflect high prices.

In currency markets, the euro chalked up a new 11-year low against the dollar after European Central Bank President Mario Draghi reiterated his commitment to a EUR1 trillion ($1.09 trillion) bond-buying scheme, due to start Monday.

longer term frankly it is a downer - today of course it is limited in drop to circa 1.08463 and then it should pull back somewhat (on the intraday scale). Baffling of course that so many cried out to no end for a Euro selloff most of last year and once it hit - virtually all those shouting out can now not handle it - what a laugh.
