Please note that what he is asking for is what has already been denied by the Eurogroup. He wants an extension of the loan, this being, more money with no conditions attached. What he was told yesterday was that their sole option is to ask for an extension of the program in full.

Anyway, European governments already understood that these people do not have the slightest intention of paying a dime and all they are trying is to milk the other countries as much as they can.

Yes, it can be a solution since in case Greece leaves it makes massive hole in Target2. Bailout the only solution in fact.

Euro will die slowly. It will touch 1.00 Just wait and see. USA nicely playing its part. In Europe there have no chance to increase of rate, infact negative rate could be imposed. On the other hand USA going nicely. So how can you think EUR will kick USD?

Greece use the meeting the same way as her creditors (Germany) i.e. to get some money. Draghi, start printing from now! Nice game theory!

They wont be "out of money" until Feb 28. It s not in their interest to acquiesce now. Further, Mr. Game Theory (Yanis Varoufakis) does not strike me as a a person who will not negotiate until the final hour.

The Greeks want to request extension merely under their own terms & conditions, which of course will be rejected by the EU Führers Merkel and Schäuble etc., so again no agreement, no deal, EUR doooooown. Eventually Grexit and EURUSD below parity.

There's rumours about that the bloke who shorted the GBP in 1992 and made a killing, has sponsored Syriza to come to power for this and perhaps other reasons. They take Greece out of EZ, euro goes down - killing #1. Greece back to drachma and Greek things like land and businesses become cheaper - killing #2.

I'm sure we can think of more killings.

That's George Soros, and by the way, it's completely wrong. those rumors usually belong to the realm of conspiracy theorists who wear tin foil hats.

Fact is, Soros often had to close up shop with massive losses in previous AND future massive hedging against governments because he failed to accurately predict government policies & responces to their economic crises.

Soros does target nations with vulnerable currencies, but he does so because there is something already wrong with the state; the rreason WHY Soros became the "man who broke the Bank of England" was because the BOE played an ego game against fundamentals and kept artificially keeping the value of the pound up against the Deutsche (german) mark, even though the economy of the U.K. never justified such prices.

The BOE kept losing BILLIONS as they continued to hold onto their beloved pound sterling, and many traders-not just Soros-knew that this was a fuck up for the BOE. They kept shorting the pound, and Soros just happened to be the most notable one. Fact is, funds and financial groups can never compete against central banks because the central banks have bigger war chests AND bigger weapons. By weapons, I mean that the banks can directly affect currently prices in the form of interest rates, monetary policy (ex: quantitative easing), and so forth.

The only morons who say Soros is an economic mastermind behind "attacks" on countries whom he profited from are almost always

a): The politicians (who usually want someone to blame for the bad economy, which they usually caused themselves)

b): Conspiracy theorists (note that they usually don't have professions/credentials in economics & financial trading)

Funny thing how most economists don't believe so.

Soros has been taking a smaller role in foreign exchange nowadays; he still trades (and is a big player), but his aggressive trading like the shortselling of the British pound have disappeared over time became they're too risky. I doubt Soros is pulling another Black Wednesday.

I agree they don't need another bail out. They don't need another loan. What? Unemployment? Let fail companies to fail. Let the employee work at farms. There will be no unemployment. Everybody works. Now, who is screaming? Debts have to be paid, but not in full. Let's not do Game Theory.

obviously, you will see a EUR relief rally , albeit brief 1-2 days and then the descent to parity begins swiftly and without any political interference. FOMC will bolster that with their hawkish comments today.
