  • UK January inflation falls to lowest since records began

    British consumer price inflation fell last month to its lowest level since records began in 1989, and it looks set to fall further still, easing a squeeze on consumers just as national elections approach. Official figures on Tuesday showed the annual rate of consumer price inflation fell to 0.3 percent in January, as expected in a Reuters poll, from 0.5 percent in December. The tumble largely reflected a slide in global oil prices, which last month fell to their lowest level in almost six years at below $45 a barrel, as well as lower food prices. They want to take out the small bears. Correction will probably continue to 1.55. Not trading GBP until then

because its good for uk economy and 0.3 % inflation, was already price by the market. thats how i see it

Low inflation was expected. The y/y figure forecast was 0.3% and actual came out 0.3%, therefore no significant reaction. Even if it were lower i.e 0.2%, it is only slightly lower and you still should expect a strong move down in Cable.
